The only possible way I could see your design improved is if it included a Manchester Bee. I remember chatting to you on here about that a couple of years back and you weren't sure. It's included as the first option in the questionnaire on symbols, so it must be being considered. The only way I can see that being incorporated in to your design is as a replacement for the full stops at 9 and 3 o'clock, but even then I'm not sure if it would improve your design. But personally, the bee is probably the most iconic symbol I associate with Manchester.

1. The metallic Silver ish round one Gav did
2. The metallic maroon/gold one Gav did
3. The one on the glass door City? Have done.

Any or all these depending on which kit City are wearing, (home/away/3rd).

Yeh it will take something really special to top this one for me. There seems to be a real ground swell of people that want this change, and it fits so much better with the other badges in the CFG. Don't worry mate, I'd be really surprised if we don't end up with something very similar to this.

I feel that with an all blue badge it will get lost on a blue shirt.

As I've said before, the outer ring just has to be white. It will make it stand out, and provide a nice compromise of following the same format as the other CFG clubs, but also distinguishing it from the other badges with their blue rings.

I also like the idea of replacing the 'full-stops' with bees, but would it be possible to do what is quite an intricate symbol on such a small scale?

I'm not so keen on having 'Manchester City' in bold and 'Football Club' in regular - it looks a bit top-heavy as a result.

I think I'd actually prefer just 'Manchester City FC' on there, going round the outside like on the previous badges, as having 2 words on the top and 2 on the bottom reminds me of United's crest, which is obviously shite.

possibly replace the dots for a hexagon/honeycomb shape, not too intricate as small bees would be, but still maintaining the reference?

two bees either side would be great and perhaps the rose somewhere in the middle ?. this badge looks great, simple not crappy latin swell

I dont know... if that's the reason people want to change it then it would only serve to show that the "no history" nonsense has gotten to people. Besides lets be honest the takeover has been the best thing that has happened to the club why is it a bad thing to be reminded of? It's far from it and should bring a big smile to ones face IMO. Even my old man was saying he likes the current one.

You can say plenty about the phoenix not meaning anything(it probably does have a meaning but I can honestly say I never give a thought about other clubs' badges meaning, couldn't care less) and choosing symbols like the ship and all that guff but at the end of the day it's not even all that interesting to begin with(just going to lead to people boring others, explaining the badge to them that they never asked about), the rest of the world doesnt give a damn about any of that so theres no point trying to get fancy and all deep and meaningful, might as well just choose something that simply looks good which the current one does to many.

People have wanted a return to the old badge since the new ones inception so I don't agree we're bowing to pressure at all. It may well be the motive for the change is a corporate one in aligning the badge with the others but wasn't the reason for changing to the new one corporate? In any case if it brings back the previous badge I'm not complaining. As for looking good it's clearly personal. I happen to like minimal less ornate designs, the eagle looks out of place.
