Club Badge (merged)

Both New York and Melbourne have their name at the top and "Football Club" at the bottom like our old badge. If they are looking for consistent branding across the group it seems strange that they've broken with that with this new badge. The new badge is internally inconsistent too, in the way that "Manchester" follows the curve as it has to but "City" is a straight line, which jars. For me that's one of the elements that make it look like it was designed by a kid. I'm not keen, but I'll get used to it - it's just a badge.

This is what happens when you design by committee - especially as the committee was about 60000 people!

I think it's okay but not as good as it could've been.

Think they've gone for clean and simple and ended up with basic and boring.

This is what happens when you design by committee - especially as the committee was about 60000 people!

At least the wtf are the stars for has been solved. The word City is straight to match the top of the shield, more balanced IMO......bit of an artist....quibble.

Can't understand the "it don't say football club" brigade. The words Manchester City are synonymous with a football club based in Manchester England.

But we ripped the piss out of them when they took the words football club off their badge. We are turning into every thing we hated about them.

Another point, we're using Gotham font same as NYCFC aren't we? NYCFC used that font to represent New York.

Surprised the outer ring is white not blue like the NYCFC & Melbourne City badges as the blue on blue looks great on the NYCFC shirt. But looking forward to seeing the real thing on Saturday

When I first saw it I assumed it was a simplified version of the actual badge. Now I realise this is the actual badge that will be on the kit and around the stadium!! Jesus Christ, it looks like a cartoon! Absolutely and utterly diabolical.

I asked about 10.000 people from different nationalities what came up with the words Manchester City. 99.999 immediately said: A football club. So no need to put that on the badge. As for the one left? Turned out to be a foreign rag based in London who started crying and wetting himself.
