Make Silva and Navas take 50 corners each tomorrow morning as punishment. While they're at it have Joe practice at catching a few balls instead of punching them all the fucking time! Shocking.

Seems Joe was ordered never to actually catch but punch those balls back in,there's one today that he could have caught easily but punched it back and we lost possession and almost conceded

He was trying to start a counter attack.

I agree but it doesn't stop him trying.

My plan for corners is to have a player stood a foot from the player taking the corner. The corner taker then gives it to that player, who puts it out for an opposition throw-in. That way, we can't get caught on the break.

We were the better team today and got done with two poor decisions for set pieces.

Should defend them better but we didn't end of. Apart from that can't really complain we had more of the play, created most of the chances just didn't get the rub of the green.

Can't win them all.

Bony, Yaya Nasri and a match fit Aguero will make a big difference

so, I believe thats 139 corners since we scored

Reckon it'll hit 200+
nice to see an optimist amongst us all. me being a pessimist we hit 4 figures before we score from a corner.

seriously though, we have tall players, even being extremely unlucky we still manage to bag one or 2 goals, it comes down to the corners takers, and to put it as nicely as i can.

they are fucking wank

From my Jan 10 post on the Joe Hart thread:

we were made to pay for a defensive error from a dead ball, which (for me) is our biggest weakness

That would be the game killing goal number 2 from Giroud!

Add that to the WOEFUL use of the dead ball by City, and you have a double whammy of possession leading to NOTHING, and defensive lapses leading to BOTH ARSENAL GOALS!

And, for those of you who still think Kompany is the best defender in (fill in your ever expanding region of hyperbole), take off the blue tinted glasses and take a closer look at how he gets caught square on and done by a fucking full back.....and then has the balls to complain!

Oh, and while I'm on the subject, MDM made a few errant passes today that Mangala would have been crucified for.

Let's hope TACTICS are on the agenda for the week in the sun, and that not too many players get two weeks off, lying in wait for the Chelski game!

One of your better ideas bizarrely ;)

I presume that the Holistic one and his minions pay some sort of lip service to actually practicing corners in training. So what the fuck is happening betwenn the training pitch and match day?

Devastatingly poor. I remember Ferguson's United having some dreadful performances but their dangerous deliveries from corners or crosses would snatch them jammy wins. 16 corners today, just needed someone to head one home and it could've been a different game... but absolutely useless. Try some new strategies from them for god sake.

Totally agree arsenal we'll beat us today, back to the corners how long will it be until someone of note at the club brings it up with the manager, or it is addressed by manuel himself. The hole farce with the Clichy corner was beyond a joke, no one either knew who was supposed to take it nor did anyone want to. Also I'm always of the opinion that on the left you have a right footed player to swing the ball in and the oposite on the right but it's quite obvious that manuel disagrees with me.

Speak up; they didn't hear you in the car parks!

How the hell can Bony make a difference in the air if the ball never gets there? If the service carries on the same way he will make fuck all difference. Dzeko in a good crossing side would score shitloads too.

Its shockingly bad. We just don't put the ball in the right areas. Either the keeper comes and collects, or, and this is the biggest thing, we just don't get off the ground. That is what costs us when we defend set pieces as well. Their second was just poor marking, but we never get anyone off the ground to put in a fucking challenge. For such a big side we should be doing miles better. Its soft.

Our strength is in possession. Put a ball in the air and play compact and ATM we look fucked. We play good football and need to keep the faith in how we do things. But one or two things need looking at. Have a fucking look at the basics first thing tomorrow on the training ground.

It's not just corners, it's set pieces from other crossable areas. It's just pathetic.

I was wondering why we don't try Yaya at corners, he's good at pretty much anything, might do them well too.
