Greece to allow Brits to visit in May if vaccinated..

Let’s hope that everyone has been offered the vaccine by then, otherwise it’s massively unfair on those who are not classed as vulnerable. All those who are low risk and have sacrificed a year to protect the vulnerable shouldn’t be punished for not yet being elegible for the vaccine.

They’ll just have to wait until they are. No way around that is there? Should only be a matter of weeks from then and then everyone is done. Can imagine this will be implemented by many countries and probably the only way international travel can start to open up.

Wouldn't that be up to Greece. I won't be done by May but don't see that as a reason to begrudge anyone that has been done going. Seems a bit petty.

Fucking dead right, I’ll get mine in a few weeks or so I reckon, my lad won’t be offered his for months (24) you going to tell me I can go to the match or the pub and he won’t be allowed just because he’s not had it offered yet? Utter farce to even suggest it.

So what if it’s a family holiday but older teenagers for example haven’t been offered a jab? Whole family can’t go?

Agreed. No foreign holidays has massively impacted my mental health and I can't wait get get back to them. However, it is not right until all adults have had at least one shot.

Greece, Spain etc may want this, but I'd be surprised if the UK government let anybody go abroad until July at the earliest.

Looks like it. Will be decided by the individual countries I would imagine, it maybe that a negative test and/or vaccine proof may suffice. Early days yet for confirmation of the rules.

Except they have already mentioned 17th May for earliest date for international travel in the roadmap

What is the upshot of this?

Cases were falling globally a lot. Now they are flattening or going up in most places? Is that the right order of interpreting those tweets as it fits what happened here in January into February though I would not say it is yet obviously slowing just falling less quickly as there is less far to fall - so natural.

And if global patterning then regardless of if strict measures are in place or if or how far into any vaccination programme countries might be?

Is that the essence of those tweets and the WHO declaration?

If so what is going on here? There must be some scientists who think they know.

This virus has never behaved the same way everywhere up to now. It has to a degree depended on seasons, outbreak, control methods used, social dynamics and geography or social demographics etc. Why would that shift?
