Would you ever really expect him to say he is completely dismissing it? He has pretty much said that in the most diplomatic way possible, surely even you can see that.

No, he didn't say that. However much you want it to be so, it's just not true.

It was, at the time, entirely unclear how much of the apparent reduction in severity was down to prior immunity and how much intrinsic to the strain (it's still not entirely clear, as we wait older populations data). Scientists in SA said as much - I've quoted them on here.

Nobody dismissed evidence from SA. It was carefully evaluated.

Well if multiple people took that impression from what he said, maybe he needs to choose his words more carefully.

how do you know it was carefully evaluated , can you provide a link to prove it?
