We needed one three weeks ago.
Not having a 'proper' full back that can defend is fine when we're steamrollering average teams. When we come up against the cream of the crop it's a liability.agreed. the word on the street as well was we would still get a senior left back even with gomez coming in?
It’s like standing in front when trying to take a quick free kick, we don’t see enough bookings for this, we should just kick it against the player, automatic yellow, if they are stupid enough they’ll get sent off if they’ve already got one.It surely falls under the end of this sentence in the laws though:

- prevents the goalkeeper from releasing the ball from the hands or kicks or attempts to kick the ball when the goalkeeper is in the process of releasing it
Ederson is in the process of releasing the ball there.
Ffs he didn’t and even moving to impede the throw is enough for a free kick. Get over it, we weren’t lucky it was the right decision. Even if the red gave the goal even a shit VAR would have overturned it. The goal wouldn’t have been allowed at under 10 level so stop being a wum.But the Palace player raised his leg after the ball had been rolled out and not before.
Yes, if it had been serious foul play, and thus a red card. Given the 'high bar' PGMOL are applying this season (until someone is seriously injured) VAR would have judged it yellow - flailing arms unless "excessive force" wouldn't be a red - like they didn't ask the ref to look at Haaland's boot to the face of an opponent. They don't intervene for missed yellow cards.Doesn't var work for fouls? The forearm smash on cancelo before their 2nd goal.
It's not an automatic yellow. "If, when a free kick is taken, an opponent is closer to the ball than the required distance, the kick is retaken unless the advantage can be applied; but if a player takes a free kick quickly and an opponent who is less than 9.15 m (10 yds) from the ball intercepts it, the referee allows play to continue. However, an opponent who deliberately prevents a free kick being taken quickly must be cautioned for delaying the restart of play."It’s like standing in front when trying to take a quick free kick, we don’t see enough bookings for this, we should just kick it against the player, automatic yellow, if they are stupid enough they’ll get sent off if they’ve already got one.
Absolutely hate the system at present.
There is no universe where Kyle should have the main responsibility to touch the ball more than anyone else to create an overload in midfield.
He's the wrong side of the ball on every counter, people confusing him being done for pace, rather than the fact he is taken out of the game.
Stones resembling a shitting dog because he has to come out to cover the right-back space, Walker sometimes doubling up with him in desperation, a whole in the middle of the defence.
I know Klopp does similar with Terence Trent Derby, but he is a midfielder in all but name, his ability to pass and deliver is on a different level.
We need to address it quickly, somehow get Cancelo back as the spare man in the midfield.
I do think that can be addressed if Mahrez is replaced by Bernie on the right, but it then leaves us shorn of legs and energy in the middle and have concerns Kev is also becoming more reliant on legs around him?
