Wasn't arguing so don't be rude. Fabinho is odds on to go to United. We are not signing this player so why put him on your wish list.
Haha, yep...I was the one being rude!?! "...so your argument would suck..."

And, again, I simply made an observation, not a wish list. Check the mirror.

Until (and even after!) anyone signs in the dotted line and there are club pics, I would politely suggest that everyone is up for grabs...even Dietmar Hamann. :-)

If you read my original answer again you will see I was being flippant.
Lived too long in America mate. Aquired their lack of humour.. Once you start playing with words you lose my interest.

It's "humor!"

See, still got it! And, I included a smiley face on the end just to let you know I'm just playing...or does flippant trump a smiley?! Damn Forum rules, I need to learn the humour hierarchy!

P.S. I thought wordplay was what we were doing here, or were you simply passing along facts? Again, I'm taking this all in stride and not getting bent out of shape. My first reply started with "Haha.." I can't help you if you want tit for tat. I got your initial point, but felt like you were being a bit serious, even if you were being flippant. That's all. I'm going to go back to enjoying Father's Day now. Be well.

P.P.S. Loved watching Asa back in the day. The very epitome of "terrier with touch."

Chicago wins

In the 70s 80s, we bought division 1 cast offs, the top teams then reinvested in young top talent. And stayed at the top. McMahon was signed for 1million as an example. We stayed as a yoyo team. I know as I managed to accrue 80 grounds at one time.
I believe and it is my opinion that an Elvis signing is similar. He played brilliantly for barca , top tier side. They got rid for a number of reasons, some political. Juve a second tier side signed him and he has played very well for two years. Now we as a third tier side may want him. My belief is that we should be looking beyond this. A young top class right back with an even younger deputy. If we want to become a top tier side 10 years after the takeover we should not be signing 34 year olds just as other top tier sides do not sign them.

Barca didn't get rid of him so you're already wrong there. He wanted to leave and he wanted to still play for a top tier side so he signed for Juve. No where in the footballing world are Juve some second tier side. Barca wanted to keep him and their defense clearly needed him on multiple occasions this season. I already gave you a list of top sides that continue to use aging players and Pep had no problem bringing in Xabi Alonso into his top side at Bayern. Juve had no problem signing ten 33 year old Dani Alves and winning the double then getting all the way to the Champions League final. We already have plenty of youth in our team now we need a bit of experience, winning experience and champions league experience all that Dani Alves can provide for cheap. Ajax just showed the world that you can't win the top prizes with a team full of youth, naive team and a naive manager got embarrassed by the rags in a "European final"

pointless signing , we have just got rid of three players over the age of 32/33 why invest in another one who is actually older and unproven in a tough 38 game premie rleague competition , the days of fading supersrtars coming for a last pay cheque are long gone , we have had Fowler , finger pointer , McMahon, Weah , Cole , Seaman , Schmeichel and a few others so we do not need a 34 year old Alves who has seen it all and done it all landing here on £250k a week. Leave the has beens to the Rags they can sign the big nose swede and ladyboy to increase there shirt sales , we need to get on with winning a few more trophies.
We also need a right back at his peak who can be rested for some cup games to give maffeo some experience , to show a path through to the 1st team for some of these youngsters and demonstrate there is a possibility of making it at City from our academy

This guy is a different class though to the 30+ years old we have just got rid of, anyone that doesn't see the benefit in signing Alves for 2 years needs to have a look at themselves.

5m for Dani Alves is pretty good. Worst case scenario if he can't cut it we havent lost that much.

Hopefully maffeo will be ready to cut it with the big boys soon. Walker will be a good addition.
