Getting him in, even if just on loan until the summer, seems like an obvious deal to do. For all the worries about our defence, we've been really lacking creatively and he'd help with that. He's also a more natural goalscorer than most of our midfield/attack.

You won't find anyone near his level available for free or on loan in this window. We need numbers, but we also need quality. Adding someone like Olmo to the attack for no cost allows us to spend big on both a defender and a holding midfielde

I can’t work this out I’ve just read that Barca can still play him in CL games because that registration is different. So he’s still a Barca player but can’t play in LaLiga?

Defenders and CM are obviously the priority. If are only bringing 2 in. Even if it’s 3 they need to be long term signings I don’t think they’d see Olmo as long term.

I'm sure they'll wangle a way around it but IF there was a way to have Olmo we'd be laughing.

Suits our game perfectly but I would be concerned about his injury record.

They have up to 2pm Spanish time tomorrow to submit their squad for the reminder of the La Liga season. They've already ready been to the Spanish courts twice and both times their appeals have been rejected.

Unless they pull an absolute rabbit out of the hat within the next 24 hours they won't be able to register him
