With pleasure I put this link. The most underrated player of all time. David Silva came to City quietly, weaved his magic, made things happen for City, bamboozled opposition, made himself a legend, got himself a statue and ironically left us quietly in the Covid period. His volleyed assist for Edin in the 6-1 game is the best assist I have ever seen in a football game.
Enjoy your retirement, Merlin. You can enjoy your brews with your loved ones in Gran Canaria now!! Us City supporters will always remember what you did and achieved here!!
I said this on page 5, and it was questioned by at least two posters. Not just one of the very very best but simply THE BEST.
Yes the best assist of all time.
I was thinking exactly this a few minutes ago.A Villa fan at work once told me that a flick from Silva against them was one of the greatest pieces of skill he'd seen - I think he had a defender behind him, flicked the ball with his left foot and ran round to his right.
The Spain World Cup winning coach (I think) said Silva was the toughest player he knew because he got kicked so much.
Glorious player to watch - so many times he made the pass before the scoring pass.
Already done!Statue?
Yes, that would get my vote as his stand-out performance for City, a cracking goal and then a perfect through ball to Dzeko for the second. So many other good memories too, I hope he gets over at some point so we can give him the send off he never had.Hull away 2014.
Kompany sent off very early.
Silva ran the show from then on.
