Just loved watching him play my all time favourite player.

David, along with Sergio, were my favourite players of this current era, i luved watching both of them.

David was the greatest midfielder i've ever seen for us and made us tick.
There's a reason he was called The Magician and he will rightfully go down as a City legend.

It was a shame we never gave him a proper send off - sort that out City!

All the best to him and his family.

I always remind non City fans about how great he was.... not just for City, but for Spain, where he stands out against the best of the best.

Football will be a poorer place without El Mago. Having been lucky enough to watch both players I cannot split them as to who was the better players, as both were different types of players - King Colin or Sir David.
An absolute delight to have seen them both in action and both wearing our Sky Blue shirts.
David please come back to The Etihad as you will have a wonderful and deserved "send off".
All my mates who are either Rags,Dippers, Toffess,Gooners and The Shed Boys all say the same thing about him "a wonderful gifted player who they loved watching and would have loved to have seen him in their Club colours".
That says a lot about "Our David". He was liked and admired throughout the footballing world.

I never thought anyone could get near Colin Bell as the best player I have ever seen in a city shirt but to be honest Although I think King Colin still has the slight edge David was very, very close to taking his crown,

The most underrated player of all time. David Silva came to City quietly, weaved his magic, made things happen for City, bamboozled opposition, made himself a legend, got himself a statue and ironically left us quietly in the Covid period. His volleyed assist for Edin in the 6-1 game is the best assist I have ever seen in a football game.

Enjoy your retirement, Merlin. You can enjoy your brews with your loved ones in Gran Canaria now!! Us City supporters will always remember what you did and achieved here!!

The most consistent performer I’ve ever seen in a City shirt. Other players have had higher peaks but no one was as good as Silva was on a game by game basis.

His goal against United in the 6-1 to make it 5 meant a lot to me. I was at the 5-0 game in 94 as a kid and it haunted me for a long time. When Silva ran through and made it 5 of our own, it was very emotional for me and helped exercise some demons.
