No position in our side is going to be devoid of defensive duty. Even Aguero will be expected to defend from the front to some degree.

Use Pogba (if we sign him) and Fernandinho as the two in the middle, with Silva, Sterling and De Bruyne (if we sign him) as a fluid three behind Bony or Aguero.

Use Yaya as and when required, either off the bench in a more attacking role a la Lampard last season, or in the midfield if injuries dictate.

I would be so happy if we signed this lad up. Think he'd do some mouth-watering stuff with Silva and Aguero, and the space that somebody like Sterling will create for him can only be a good thing. Genuinely, I'm more excited to see him link up with our team than Pogba (though I recognise Pogba signing is more about worldwide prestige, and in that way it is equally as exciting). Basically, I'm excited.

Nothing said has changed my opinion that at least Dzeko or Jovetic will leave before we sign De Bruyne. If we do sign him then our position in selling will be weakened by the fact Roma or whoever will know we have in excess of 17 foreign players and need to unload. It will be the same for Pogba (unless he is a homegrown - I don't think he is)
