Am I the only who thinks that De Bruyne is not needed? Pogba and a LB should be the priority. De Bruyne is barely an improvement on Nasri and would just send Lopes, Roberts, Barker etc down the pecking order.

I think Pogba is the one that's not needed. DeBruyne looks a better fit for what we need right now. He can replace Milner and more. the End.
We really should be improving the 3 or 4 shortcomings in our squad with the money saved, Sagna, Kolorov, Caballero and Fernando - all not good enough. I don't understand why we don't just thank them and get better in (or promote youth - they couldn't be worse).

Really? I can't see Lopes making at it with us unless he's just well down the pecking order. Barker didn't impress me in the semis or finals of the FA Youth Cup but he's just a kid. Navas is just frustrating and Nasri is the best of that bunch behind Silva and we need to improve on him, never mind the rest.
Then there's Silva, who is the attacking midfield God. But we need to give him more world class support. And Sterling's not that yet.

Nasri has more than proven he isn't up to the task,we need better - certainly someone more consistent and direct,it would seem KDB offers just that....plus he's a man with a point to prove.
De Bruyne, Silva, Nasri. Two of those three starting every game, counting for rest and injuries is a brilliant trio of attacking midfielders. That coupled with the pace of sterling and kun bombingg forward ahead of them is going to be dangerous next year.
From what I've seen so far, the aim next year will be to play a front three with one dropping in deeper and the other two running in behind, we need players who can play the perfect ball. De bruyne fits this. I'd also address left back, right back (back up) and possibly another winger. Pedro fits the bill for the winger with the barca connection, availability and the fact he can play up top.

He is a fantastic player and would improve us but if the rumoured fee is over £45m I just don't think for the margin of improvement its worth it when I feel we have more pressing areas to improve such as LB and CM.
Don't get me wrong, I would love him at the club but not if it means money isn't available to strength other positions.

I trust the club have identified a certain role that he really fits within our side, simple as that really. They wouldn't spunk that budget otherwise.

I think Navas has played way too much pre-season to be leaving, and I think he'll start at WBA, judging by the fact that team today got 65 minutes together, I think that was to give them some time to gel.

All right!Its quite simple, and has been posted a number of times in both this and the Pogba thread, we don't have any squad places for anyone not home grown at the moment. If we get a bid accepted we will have excess players, and that reduces their sale price. As soon as someone goes we'll bid.
