For the most part no. It's a strange one, I would like to give a shit about England, as a kid I used to, but now I just have totally apathy towards it as it's always the same old shit.
Win/scrape past lesser teams in friendlies or qualifiers, mantra of we're going to win it in the press despite playing no1 really of note in a competitive game.
Then a tournament comes around, the same shit players who failed at the last tourny are all still there, saying their more experienced this time and this time it'll be different... and then what happens? Same old shit.
The way the managers are chosen is a joke as well which is why I think I just don't really give a shit anymore. For some reason, despite hardly any spending of any note from the FA on English/UK coaches, they seem to have this weird "English pride" when it comes to doing it the "right way". It's another of those jobs that just seems to be a lower premier league jobs for the boys job. From his managerial career, Big Sam should have been nowhere near the job as he's done nothing of note aside from keep a side from relegation for several years. Meanwhile we overlook foreign managers who have achieved more than English ones in the same league.
Players should also NOT be paid to play for England. If a player wants paying to play for his country then regardless of his skill he should be omitted from the squad and it made clear to the press that this is why. Playing for England used to be something to aspire to, now it seems to be if your a young English player it's only to increase your standing with your club in terms of getting more money for a new contract or your value for your club to sell you on to a bigger team.
Until serious money is spent on coaching (and a good 10/20 years) we're not going to see anything but the same sadly.
