Edin Dzeko (contract update page 370)

Re: Edin Dzeko

He was class, he looks settled, enjoying his football and rising to the challenge of starting and leading the forward line. Here's to a proper team player.

Sorry to put a dampner on this, but this has been his biggest fault to date and the one thing that annoys me,about him.
However,on Sunday, not only did he put a decent shift in,but he also brought other team mates into the equation.Long may it continue,as he looks a far better player.
Only time will tell.

On his OS post match interview he thanked the fans and said we move foward together,i think we will see a different player this year,he will still frustrate at times but so will the others

I seem to recall People getting banned for taking their support for Edin a bit too far but sweet FA happening to one or two loons who mocked the war in Bosnia.

Anyway, I'm more interested in what happens on the pitch and Edin was very good against the Geordies.
I in all honesty missed that part. This has been a multi-year, sprawling conversation. If the war in Bosnia was mocked (and I have no reason to doubt you) and nothing was done, I am disappointed.

If someone mocked the Bosnian war then they would have been dealt with by the moderators, if it was spotted. If it wasn't spotted, and no-one reported it, then we unfortunately can't see everything, in every thread, that is posted. One thing I can guarantee is that we wouldn't have seen anyone mocking the Bosnian war and simply ignored it, for anyone to suggest otherwise is a downright lie.
Apologies. I should have been clearer in that I don't believe you would purposefully have ignored something of that nature.

Without Edin Dzekoo whoa whoa equalizer there would not have been the Agüerooooo moment. End of.

How do know that ?? We may have won with any other player coming in,so you can`t prove anything.QPR may not have equalised if that shit header from Lescott hadn`t happened.
All about ifs, whys and wherefores and all players were involved and made things happen.I think David Silva should get a lot of credit, after all it was his fabulous corner kick that helped Dzeko score. But then again Dzeko can`t do it all by himself can he ?

I farted that morning setting off a series of events that led to Kun's goal. You can thank my arse and the beans I ate the previous night :)

You're both talking bollocks, when the Grannyshagger headed in against Sunderland, some transplanted hair strands floated off on the wind and landed under Onouha's feet, he slipped, Aguero scored.

The Bosnian war wasn't mocked, I remember the situation because a Bosnian PM'ed me under the impression I had been the one to do it. Somebody used it in reference to something else (that I can't remember), a Bosnian misunderstood it and thought it was an attack on his country and started hurling abuse about, Ducado or Damocles then cleaned the thread so that it was no longer visible.

Pellegrini made an interesting comment that he believes that Edin has matured as a player. I think this is definitely the case.

In many respects I now see him as part of a leadership group within the squad. His performances on the pitch are demonstrating maturity and the ability to continually improve. One aspect of this is his work rate. Much of the criticism that he has received on this forum was because of a perceived laziness on the pitch. Yet the Edin that I now see tracks back and forth, gets back and defends, roams around the pitch helping where he can, in addition to his his outstanding goal scoring record.

I also give him credit for his deeds off the pitch. I know that he returned home during the offseason and works very hard to be a role model for the young lads in his country. This to me also demonstrates a maturity as a person.

He has always been a polarising figure in his years at City. Yet now I believe that even his harshest critics are changing their views. This is all down to Edin and his improved performances.

So all credit to Edin. He thoroughly deserves the new contract. He is a vital member of the team and will remain so for the foreseeable future.

The End . Best post to finish a thread for a while until next game.

I really do not understand the argument, what the is a problem , if not to how he play's, then if we literally had he got us a league (of course not) .But people use such terms for a player who has been pushed to a side, ready to be sold and when Kun was injured when Negredo could not score to save his life .Dzeko is entered in the big matches score and score and gave a huge contribution to the title, something that he do during whole time here ( I would really wanna to see here some of compalation of hes goal's for City and to make some % how much of hes goals was a big ones ,a winners ) Just to say i know hes not the only one , they all score big goals, but no one had the thread of is he shit or good long 1000 pages. Although I' understand all the criticism on hes acc. for a while in Bob's time and start of Peller's, there were moments when I was annoyed and I've always liked him as a player .From last half of the season ,so from January he playing better and better, meaning not just one game. From the last half of the season he hardly played any game bad. Increased the work rate , this season shows that he has been working on pace, firmness and strength, trap ball great, hes e touch's look better , passing good and that back heal means I' m finally feel comfortable here and he is finally accepts English style battles and race for each ball. I'm sure he would have score goal if Nasri with first touch square ball to Edin at the end of the first half. Only problem for me is when hes playing like this hes drop far to much in the field, and maybe it can cost him some goals. Basically my point is that this topic should be locked and after the game or maybe some news give a 2 -3 days to discuss it and re-lock .Everything after that is exaggerated or against him or for him.

Re: Edin Dzeko

Thought Dzeko was good if a little rusty against Newcastle. Sublime back heel. I'd really like his new contract to get signed and announced. Make me nervous that it's not been done yet.

The running arguments about his overall input to our trophies in the last few years seems a bit tragic. He's one of a core of players who have been crucial to the trophies we've won. Nothing more needs to be said. Yes he frustrates at times, yes there might be better forwards out there (not many though), but he's ours and he's consistently done the business when called upon.

Re: Edin Dzeko

Just announced on SSN that Edin's signed a new 4 year contract. Fully deserved as well. Don't mind admitting I was wrong about that guy. Keep up the good work Ed.
