OK so from reading this forum for the past two days I realize that the general opinion is that Dzeko and Kolarov (not Kolorov) lost us the game. Apparently Kompany and Clichy (who have been great this season, especially Gael) didn't have shockers and the conceded goals weren't their mistakes. It was actually a striker (with minimal support from the midfield) and a left midfielder (that's where Kolarov played yesterday) who came on as a sub that were at fault for our defensive collapse? I also saw nothing wrong from Kolarov's at all, he wasn't great but was fine. As for Dzeko, yes his performance was poor, but I don't expect a player who put in massive performances over this season (even whilst having minimal playing time) to work his arse off after he's been benched for the two most important games of the season. Mancini has treated him really badly (not only him - De Jong, Lescott,Adam Johnson and his replacement Sinclair) over the course of his time at City and he's had enough. If we keep Mancini then he should go as he has no future at this club. Personally I would rather see Mancini go, there are so many examples of his bad tactics (Europe means simply coming up against better opposition than we do in England and we've failed every time) and signings (this summer) that I've had enough too. As for the fans I find it appaling that Dzeko who's been a real proffesional at the club and saved us countless times (e.g. QPR) is being told to fuck off after one uninspired game while Tevez who's slagged the city and refused to play for the club (remember the Trash Your Tevez Shirt skip?) is being idolised.
You must have been reading a different forum, as nobody has said that; unless you're willing to provide posts that state otherwise.
I think that there's enough evidence for Dzeko, just go through the last couple of pages. As for Kolarov: 'Kolorovs a Joke of a player completely disrupted our performance' ' Kolarov, you can bugger off too...please leave in the Summer.' 'Kolarov is dogshit.' and here's a 2-for-1 'Kolarov comes on-Goes to rat shit

He and Dzeko are just not good footballers'
Can't argue any of the comments in bold.

As for the last comment, they are hardly doing anything to disprove that statement are they?

And I'm pretty sure nobody has blamed Dzeko for the loss, your lack of willingness to provide evidence to support your claim proves that.

So did the third goal, Dzeko was on his heels (as he had been for most of the match) when Kolarov passed to him and that allowed the interception that set up the counter.

Well technically speaking Kompany lost us the game. He made 2 mistakes that cost us 2 games.

I'd blame Hart for the first goal, he should never allow a ball to travel across his 6 yard box without attempting to cut it out.

I think it's time to get rid of Dzeko at the end of the season. He'll do well somewhere where he can play every week but he's not gonna get that at City. He's been crap too many times when we've needed him this season.

I'd swap him for Andy Carroll who would be a better option as 3rd/4th choice forward

I was just about to ask,in hindsight, would Carroll have been a better option?

Equally as technical,i suspect more assists, far more robust, passionate and aggressive and fits the HG rule.

Probably on a third/quarter of his wage as well.

No, we would be repeating the same thing again. Plus Liverpool wouldn't let him leave on a cheap.

If Carroll could fit in to Liverpool's current playstyle, then neither can he here. He's better off suited to heading-tennis matches.

if ur suggesting we let Carroll anywhere near our club u need to give ur head a wobble. If he can't hack it for the scouse he sure as shit can't hack it here

Oh I get it now....he's actually a really talented player but because he's been mis-managed he chooses to play like an absolute tosser. How can someone 6'3" tall fail to win a single arial challenge all game ? I'm thinking he deliberately played badly to get back at Mancini before he (Dzeko) departs at the season's end. He offered us absolutely nothing yesterday. The final straw surely.

he will be gone trust me, i'm unsure about mancini at the moment but we will sell dzeko.

dzeko is a great goal scorer but doesn't fit our system, he can be a lazy bastard sometimes as well which doesn't help.

he was shocking yesterday but played well vs wigan.

I agree 100%. If Dzeko went across town to the Swamp he would score a hatful - he really would.
We simply don't play wide, expansive attacking football where the crosses are constantly pinged in for him (or anyone else) to get on the end of. The scum do this week in week out. They win the ball in the middle, pass it wide and whip in cross after cross. That's their 'system' and it has been for years. Its why mediocre players can go to the Swamp and end up winning titles and trophies - the players fir the system and not the other way around.

Dzeko has never stood a chance whilst we play the way we do. He is 'target man' plain and simple. We saw glimpses of him early last season when he was scoring for fun. He's a good player but our system of narrow, intricate, close passing is just not for him and it never will be. We buy a player who is great in the air and then rarely put any crosses in - then blame the player and say he's shite and sell him off for a knockdown price. It really does make you think.

spot on.

Good post I agree, but still the performance yesterday quite really summed up his season, he was really bad and made all the people who like him and wish him the best really dissapointed. The worst thing I know about him is when he losses the ball and really does not give a shit, I cannot explain how much I freak out when he does this.

On the other hand I could relate to a bit of his frustration and probably lacklustre of playing, Mancini hardly mentions him, he scores and gets to sit on the bench, there is absolutely no support from his attacking teammates for eg Milner choose a harder solution against Tottenham when he passed to the Nasri goal, and to be fair this is something that has been ongoing for the whole season. I think these things affects Dzeko's game alot since it bothers him and the biggest set-back is that he's to soft to do something about it like IBRA would. But He's a football pro, earn alot of money for simply doing what he loves and really should GIVE 200 % no matter what when given the chance to play, he only helps himself by doing this and is the only beneficial from the outcome and not any of us. He simply does not show the effort so many people know he can put in, so I cannot blame Mancini in the end nor anybody but Edin. He should leave this model Amra and focus a bit on his football career. He needs to wake up and start deliver and DARE abit more. If Mancini stays then he probably will be off to Borussia Dortmund, I recently read an article from Mats Hummels where he stated that Dzeko has been the toughest opponent/striker to meet in the champions League so far and he was full of praise for him. It's quite funny that a team who to be honest outplayed us like no other team this year really is in it for Edin and yet they seem to play even more technical football than us, so It's a bit strange how he would fit in their system?
