Sorry but he just doesn't haver the ability to do it, if he did when he played either starting or on the bench his first touch wouldn't be so sporadic, his strength on and off the ball wouldn't be so sporadic and countless other things.

I am not slating him, he is a superb goal scorer and I am sure he will be a success at his next next club but he is being sold for a reason and people need to realise what it is.

mancini wanted to sell him because edin wanted that. i remember mancini saying that edin is one of the best in europe and that he wanted to keep him. but mancini is not here anymore so we don't know what's going to happen next. you never know , pellegrii might want to keep him.

if we want to win things we have to abandon this ballet football and play a more masculine aggressive counter attacking football.

The old adage "one swallow doesn`t make a summer" springs to mind ref Dzeko.

One swallow indeed does not make a summer,

But being a top scorer when you are a sub due to a manager who does not like you and scoring 5 goals with 2 assists in 4 games after he is booted is certainly July.
What?

As for the top scorer comment, I give up.

If Pelligrini could make Santa Cruz look good, imagine what he could do with Dzeko
12 goals in 43 games.

More sub appearances than starts; if this were to happen to Dzeko next season there would be riots

Dzeko only started two more league games (16 starts but, 22 times sub on the bench (4 more than Santa Cruz, and 12 more than Aguero who was injured)):

Also for all the bench appearances, Dzeko didn't play at all in 6 games vs. Santa Cruz's 2. Shame for a striker of his calibre, in his prime years no less.

Played well in the two matches, but are people really going to say that these two friendlies hold more merit than league performances like Everton and Spurs away?

If he wasn't constantly judged solely on his last performance, but rather the bigger picture, then it would be easier to understand the differing opinions.

Nice too see the term "haters" got it's daily run out in this thread though

YES BUT................................ Let's be fair to Dzeko.

Is it fair to use this 'bigger picture' argument duing his years at City when he has clearly been asked to play a role that brings out let's just say 'less than the best' in him

As much as we all have our opinions, I honestly think no-one can say whether Dzeko could/would/will work out with Pellegrini and whoever ends up on our roster next season because he has never played in these circumstances.
All we do know is that he is been fantastic with Wolfsburg and Bosnia, and some of the time at City.

This and with better service, he will score more goals.

Is he playing for a starting berth next season or to get a good transfer? Either way hes looking in top form
