I watched more of Edin's games (live and on TV) than most of you here (Ireland, etc.) COMBINED - and all I can say is that "ball bounces off of him for miles" and "first touch is awful" kind of statements are GARBAGE.
When you talk about first touch - all you people evaluate and stick to is the fact that Edin is not good at short passess and one-two's in tight space.
But this is a known fact - and if you think you're being genius for constantly pointing that out - you just come off as ignorant. Him being as lanky as he is doesnt help him in tight space - it's fucking natural. What many here are saying is something like "that fuck Aguero is awful in areal game". Ground-breaking by you lot, really.
His first touch in other circumstances (handling long passess, long crossess, volley, first-touch shots) - is up there with the best of them (just see kind of fucking goals he scores, eh?).
So it's really down to the system, and whether the new manager will stick to that kind of build-up. Dzeko will be even more lethal in different system, like he did in Wolfsburg and like he does for NT.
I dont think system will be changed - so Dzeko will be off. But not because he is not a great striker, or because his "first touch" is awful (what a short-sighted opinion) but because he doesnt fit.
If his "first touch" (really his play in tight space) was that bad - he wouldnt be playing for EPL champion, and he wouldnt be sought after by many managers/clubs in Europe. End of.
