regardless of this..how many goals did he score ?? ps,he didnt get outjumped against QPR when we won the title.

Wow, are you actually being serious?

We are talking about a £27,000,000 striker, and you are referencing something that happened in May 2012?

That is even sadder than the people who said "Balotelli played well in the 6-1 and F.A Cup Final, so we shouldn’t sell him!"

you obviously know fook all about goals per game and mins played ratios..so Ill leave you to your obvious fuckwittery and lack of knowledge as to how our 3rd choice striker actually did last year..

yes 3rd choice !! he scored more than our 1st and 2nd choice..but hey ho..stats ?? useless arent they..like your argument.

Aguero had injury problems all last season, and assuming Tevez was our second choice, he basically played in midfield all season.

If Aguero had been injury free he'd have doubled Dzeko's tally

Also I'm pretty sure Dzeko's goal/game ratio actually was better than RVP's for a short period, but you wouldn't have Dzeko over RVP ever! You can quote cherry picked stats here and there, but unless you have mutually supporting stats, they're kinda pointless.

In total Dzeko has played 106 games for us. 106.

Why is he still the 3rd choice striker? Behind Injury prone Aguero and Tevez, who didn't play for half a season?

Surely you would agree that 106 games is enough time for anyone to cement a place in the first team? Especially when our other two strikers weren’t always readily available.

There were plenty of games where sergio was fit but didnt score!!! going by what you just said then he should have scored in every game he played.

I must have missed those.

Dzeko is at his absolute best when his main focus is to provide the finish to a move, rather that trying to influence how moves take place. When he tries to influence build up play his poor technical ability is exposed and promising moves often break down because of it. His best performance in a Manchester City shirt (the 5-1 away to Spurs) was Dzeko being asked to do one job: stay in the danger area and finish off chances that were made for him by others. If you think about the goals he scored that day in order to complete his perfect hat-trick, he relied on the cutting edge that Silva, Nasri and Aguero provided in order to bag himself three goals that showed he has fantastic reactions and an eye for empty space in the box (he's shown this numerous times).

We all know Dzeko can be clumsy in front of goal at times but he's not alone in our striking department in this respect. Although it may seem too simple to suggest that Dzeko only requires service to bag 30 goals each season, the addition of Jesus Navas - and potentially Stefan Jovetic - will hopefully result in Dzeko beginning to thrive and finally come into his own. I disliked Dzeko's style of play because it didn't fit with how Mancini wanted us to set up, but Pellegrini hopefully has other ideas that will play to Dzeko's strengths. We all know that, on his day, a happy Dzeko can be the best striker in the Premier League and I can't wait for that to potentially happen.

We all know Aguero is capable of scoring more than last season. We know because he did it the season before. Aguero came back from a lot of injuries last season and it's not like you just jump back into it and are fully fit. Takes time even when you're playing games.

Dzeko has never done for us what Aguero has done.

Also, even with such an under achieving season due to injuries (by Aguero's standards) his goal to game ratio is still higher than 1 in 2 games, that's how good Aguero is!!

Comparing the two is laughable to be honest.

Because he's terrible for where we are and messes up the team's fluidity. Add to
the fact he only looks half a striker as a sub when the other players are depleted. The only time he can recover a bad first touch too as the other players can't be arsed to challenge him for it when he's fresh.

Ill be damned if he starts for us regularly. Kun up top or we're making a big mistake.

hes 3rd choice because Tevez and Aguero are better,I admit that, but thats football and Edin is the perfect choice to carry on..

What do you want ffs.. We have a player that plays for us,yes he moans but wants to stay despite lack of first choice playing time. tell me what player in world football good enough to play as a striker for city would settle for 3rd/4th choice and not be screaming out for a transfer ???

This is why you would never see players like falcao, cavani, ibrahimovic& Aguero in the same team.

Absolute managerial nightmare and all would throw hissy fits if not picked.. so please think about this when slating Edin..As we are lucky to have him.

This 3rd choice shit. He was the first option off the bench. When you consider that Tevez was AM and the vast majority of teams play one up top, Dzeko was second choice.
