Strikers should be judged on how many they miss not how many they score.

But they're not.

I doubt any of us look at the goals each player scores at the end of each season and says something like, "We'll, he scored 30, but he missed another 60 / 80 / 100 chances.

I know I don't.

Unfortunately this very scenario is played out on here every day..

The misses are remembered more than the goals by many..

There are a lot of plus points with this site but I find neverending topics like this one totally bizarre. What are you supposed to do with a 4000+ topic like this - read every post to make sure you don't duplicate a point that has already been posted?

Suarez misses more than Dzeko.

Ok "ratio of chances to goals" then.

Suarez 8.1 shots per goal. 23 goals from 187 shots
Dzeko 6.7 shots per goal. 14 goals from 94 shots

very close tbh..but one is a lethal goalscorer the other is our 4th choice striker acc to many on here.

That's about 21% more shots / goal for the biter than for Džeko. I wouldn't say it was that close.

In fact, I would say it's quite a big margin in our fellow's favour.

He didn't even have one shot on target today and I don't see anyone freaking out.

actually if you double Edins shots to 188 hell get 28 goals. ;) 5 goals more than suarez 23 on 187 shots..
