What do Dias, Cancelo, Ederson, Laporte, Walker, Gundogan, Rodri, Stones, Mahrez, Sané, Jesus, Mendy and Danilo have in common?
We were pretty much the only top team in for any of them (not counting Bayern because they have significantly less cash than most top clubs, or United in that period where they were really shite).
What do Sanchez, Maguire, Van Dijk and Jorginho have in common?
They all ended up going elsewhere when another club made a higher offer than City were willing to.
Haaland is firmly in that second category. He's one of the most in-demand players in the world. If Raiola wants, he can ask for €50m for his services alone, and he will get it- just not from us. PSG, United or Real would pay that without blinking. No chance we would.
This is a non-starter.

Yes we are european whipping boys, we all know that. we dont go for highest rated players/superstars unless no one else wants them. we have lost every major transfer we came up against big boys. BUT we always pull out something out of hat in the end and have done alright trophy wise.
