Etihad Atmosphere - 2022/23

The atmosphere was great. SSL3 is now the heart of the stadium.

My only gripe was how many got off before the end. That performance deserved a sending off and the ground was half empty at the whistle.
Had a ticket on the half way line in the east stand and one in SSL3 and let my dad have to one in the east stand. Much rather be in there (SSL3).

The ironic oles when they put a string of passes together in the second half were pretty fun.

But yeah agree with everyone here. Thought it was bouncing, stadium was delirious in the first half, their second burst the bubble a bit, and I don't know if that conrtibuted to the ground emptying so quickly in the final ten minutes. First five or ten minutes in the second half are slow, and something that better or quicker service for drinks might solve. But I think the Etihad has been as good as I remember it post-lockdown season.

Good up in the 3rd tier apart from the start of the 2nd half which was flat and the ground was still empty with people staying in the concourse

Do you think it’s worth moving SSL3 inbetween SS and Kippax and moving the away fan up? Everytime we have tried it we have filled gap with neautrals who sit down and don’t speak English never mind sing city songs? This is the best I have seen us in my 36 years and I hate leaving the atmospheres in the bars/concourse. Also modernise some songs, let’s be inventive and make the fun, eg: We Signed Haaland you signed Casimero! Just a thought, let’s ensure we keep it going against Southampton and give the players something to thrive under

It is a fair shout but fans wont move, like you mentioned when we have our fans in lower SS1 for some cup games it ends up a mixture of sit down none singers and a waste of time. The tickets are offered out for singers in every possible way, nobody is interested in doing it. If for a cup game that area got filled with SS3 fans and other fans that like to sing from all over the stadium then we could push the club to do this all the time. But it doesnt get any interest.

I know it sounds a bit negative, but there is nobody more brassed off about this than me, tried for many seasons but you just cant force fans to move.

It's mainly the acoustics in SS3 that make their songs spread around the stadium. The big mistake City fans groups have made is persisting on the bottom tiers.
