Re: Etihad Campus, Stadium and Collar Site Development Threa

I was with someone who is very high up in property in Manchester earlier today and he is used by city as a consultant. He knows I am huge blue and I was fishing for more information. He simply said the announcement in the new year will show the clubs commitment to manchester. I am convinced it is the asda news and the announcement of what is going on the collar site. He woudlnt tell me exactly what it was but this guy is in his mid 50s and near the top of the tree with regard to East Manchester development. Exciting times.

as it wont be for a while i'd be very surprised if some bod down at Wigan has top knowledge when his fellow management chums at the Eastlands store have no idea, ''if'' there is some kind of bid for the land from city i can assure you at this stage its locked in a draw somewhere, there will be all sorts of complications if they downgrade store size , city may even compensate staff for loss of employment because job losses would not go down well in the local media it would destroy all we have done, rumour's are rife and its more than likely from stuff that's been posted on here, the Eastlands store has been giving new working contracts for new employee's which would certainly indicate its all bollox at this stage

Thanks for adding your insightful assumptions where you declare your thoughts on the 'surprise, assurance, more than likely and bollox'.
Basically you know as much or less than every other fooker on here so why try and score points off someone who may have been told info by someone who actually knows whats happening?
Just saying.

employment contracts at Eastlands ASDA= hard facts and not assumptions
some Johhny knowall from wigan= hard facts
buying the ASDA site, nothing official = hard facts

maybe your in denial or you just love gossip if its the later of the two spend some time on mums net 'just saying'

I'm wondering if a contract to work for ASDA is always tied to a specific location for work to be carried out?

And why, in this instance would new contracts be handed out and indeed signed by any employees?

Here's a couple of things I've gleaned from the planning app variation that was approved in the summer that I thought people would be interested in:

1. Expansion Style

City did consider a "kop" style design for the South Stand expansion but it appears it was rejected on complexity and atmosophere reasons
[bigimg]http://stevenicklin.com/images/city/stadium/alternateplan.jpg[/bigimg]

2. Timing of North Stand Expansion

Starts next October 2015 or 2016 as far as I can see - here the programme plan options
[bigimg]http://stevenicklin.com/images/city/stadium/northstandoptions.jpg[/bigimg]

I may be missing something here, but looking at that programme forthe start Oct 2015 one, the work should already have started October 2014, so that looks unlikely.

That's a good point - I think its a fuck up on the Gantt Chart bars - elsewhere in the document it talks about building it straight after the South Stand or leaving it a year before starting

I think it's a case of mistakingly naming the South Stand as the North Stand. The dates for me all add up for option 1 that relate to the current building work.

Unless I am missing something also. :S

I think the chart just shows that there is an option of either starting a North Stand extension in Oct 2015 or starting a North Stand extension in Oct 2016 with completion being by Aug 2016 or Aug 2017 respectively.

Thus by either the 2016-2017 or 2017-2018 season we would\could have a capacity of around 61,000.

I would guess the start date would depend mainly on how the South Stand take up goes and maybe how things go on the pitch ( are we computing better in Europe etc by then) and how the club grows in terms of income, global appeal etc.
