What are the structures for at the arena? Been trying work out what they are walking up to the ground but my construction knowledge is not the best.

Lift and escalator cores.
7 no cores to facilitate vertical movement.
Large atriums with escalators to open up floor footprints for sub-events and non event day modes.
The steel frame starts being erected in the new year.

:-)

As many of you know, over the years I’ve taken pictures of soil, mud, wasteland, concrete pillars, walls, etc. Which to the untrained eye is frankly boring. But there’s always a reason to take such pictures. Here’s an example.

WTF?

A porta-cabin wall.

Utilities have been connected to the port-cabin, which means work onsite is due to start soon. So the excitement can begin in ernest.(bar seeing a piling rig onsite)

Downing Living, Co-Living, First Street. Onsite early next year. The 45 story tower is going up first.

Back to topic.

Going to get some pictures of the arena site today. Not done an update for a few weeks, so there should be some visible changes.
Deffo worth it, phot everything it's so easy nowadays.

Must admit I thought you were describing Harry Maguire at first!

Don't read either paper but I know what you're getting at. My post is quoting a real life first hand experience. About 10 years ago there were over 40,000 staff in the NHS on over £100,000 a year. Dread what to think what the numbers are now
I should hope there are! The NHS is the biggest employer in Europe. Consultants and surgeons who have to study for 10 years before slogging their guts out working 80 hour weeks are well worth their £100k plus, especially when you compare them to a private system like America where they would earn 10 times as much.

Or to put it in perspective a top surgeon in the UK earns in a year what Paul Pogba earns in a week.
