Etihad Campus, Stadium and Collar Site Development Thread

If they do the North stand next and then 10 years down the road do both E & W stands then there won't be a cable net.

You’ve just been telling us how they don’t need to remove the cable net though and can be done like the SS. It was other people telling you they might need to get rid of it to do that :)

Hardly the greatest forward thinking designs if bulbs can't easily be replaced, and they do look hard to reach.

Be nice to see them back however.

Can’t see how City can expand the CBS and the ES easily. It would mean building around the spirals, integrating the spirals in to the expanded stands, or demolishing the spirals. If the spirals weren’t behind the CBS and the ES, the stands could be expanded quite easily from the back upwards, just like the SS was and the NS Will be.

The concourses on CB3 and EL3 are nowhere near big enough for an extra 5k seats each side.

They’d need extending back out as well.

Seems like wayyyyy too much work tbh

Wouldn’t be suprised if NSL3 is the last major addition of seats we see.

City could increase capacity very easily if they had the same seat configurations as shitholes like Anfield, Old Trafford, Goodison Park and Elland Road, i actually physically cannot get into the seats at these stadiums, anyone over 6 foot tall has no chance of sitting down at these places, i we crammed our seats in, in the same fashion our capacity now would be 70000+

It really didn’t make sense to take out all these seats at the front of level 1, so bigger digital advertising boards could be installed.

What’s more important, additional revenue from bigger and cleaner advertising boards, or giving 1000+ more City fans the opportunity to watch City And Haaland?

Note: The terraces are still there. The seats could be put back in at any time!! This should be a priority for City next season, and until the North stand expansion is finished. If they want to, ity could take the L1 seats out again and reinstall the bigger digital advertising boards.

Better would be to put the rail seats from the South Stand in the N Stand and put slightly more compacted rail seats in the S Stand. Would be a miles better atmosphere with another 1000 or so in the S Stand lower.

The extra leg room and space between the seats is just one of many reasons why the Etihad is regarded as a better stadium than OT and Anfield. Squeezing more seats in would be to the detriment of the Etihad stadium and the fans. Put the L1 seats back in. Expand the North by at least 6000 seats, which should be a minimum. If City then decide to put the larger digital advertising boards back on L1, fair enough.

The swamp is horrific if you are over 5ft 6!
