It's interesting to see the vote at the top of this thread. For some time now the lead 'Leave' has over 'Remain' has been narrowing.

I haven't been following the total number of votes so not sure if Bluemooners have changed their minds or if it is undecided finally coming to the party.
I've changed my mind in the last six months.

When Turkey is mentioned, why is it that the remain camp frantically scramble to reassure us all and try to assuage fears by saying 'They'll not get in for 39/40/50 years,
if ever, so no need to worry?' They are apparently, pro immigration from anywhere, so what's the problem if millions of Turks arrive here, they've embraced Romania and Bulgaria,
sending tens of thousands here every year, why the hatred for the Turks?
Because Turkey has long been the gateway for terrorist crossings, well i think thats the case. Also a substantial population and low earnings like every other country that desperatly wants in to the euro. The problem is that while they still have an invaded part of Cyprus the Eu is a bit hesitant on giving them membership well that and the problem with any kind of human rights

My mate's wife has run of with a Turkish bloke. There could be more Brita going East Han Turks coming here!

Interesting when the use of language is looked at as to the message it seemingly carries and the truth.

The remainians claim of a crash in the economy is no such thing apparently, it only says we wont be as rich as we "Might" be if we stay in, while the word rescission is banded about without also putting the treasuries own numbers on it because that just makes them look a little silly, being a .04% over 4 quarters,

There is a big difference between supporting the free movement of Turks and supporting Erdogans regime, the laws he is bringing in and his way of government. I would suggest Turkey is moving further from membership and of its own strategy, the bigger concern for most of us should be Turkiah membership of NATO this is actually much more serious and much more likely to cause us issues than membership of the EU in many decades time

I don't get why this 500m customers thing is such a deal breaker to people. Surely as an independent country we could set up trade agreements which far exceed that. Even if we left the EU we'd still be an attractive market for them to deal with. The only reason we wouldn't continue to trade with them is if spiteful members spat their dummy out, if that happens are these the type of people we want to move closer too?

If we leave the EU, some filthy rich businessmen might decide to move their businesses to Europe instead, if so, so what? We might have a few less Starbucks (that don't pay tax here anyway) and a few more locally owned businesses. That's if we become a hermit nation and cease to trade on an international scale, which won't happen.

I just don't buy trade as a big deal in this because I can't see it changing much either way.

I'm out for a couple of reasons in the 80s I travelled all over Europe and it was a way of experiencing other cultures now it's just one .countries have lost their own unique identity and have sold there souls to the the unelected who seam to think we all want to be clones of one another so for me it's out and keep my own identity

I will be honest I am not sure if you are a remainder being sarcastic or you genuinely don't see the big deal of a market of 500m people on the doorstep. If the former them that is a good post you have made the point well, if the latter then look at the deals made by the countries who have done as you said, they pay in just as much if not more, they allow free movement of labour and therefore at best they are no better off than we are at worst they are considerably worse off.

We won't have those locally owned businesses we will have even cheaper Chinese and other Asian market exports filling the hole and our wages will be driven down dramatically as we try to compete on a global market without the advantages we now have

Says it all about the mindset of some people, not unlike the arguments used by our resident Aussie based SJW.

Terrorist crossings? Germany has recently opened it's doors to hundreds of thousands, arriving from all over the Middle East and North Africa, maybe they should be excluded
from the EU.
Low earnings? Check out wages in Bulgaria, Romania, Poland etc; etc;
Human rights? Many EU countries in Eastern Europe are active in erecting fences to block refugees, very inclusive, that.
I think everyone is just being beastly and nasty towards the Turks, and if we elect to stay, we should fight for their entry to be ratified, only about 500 would want to come here anyway.

In short, Germany, the UK and France have paid the most into the EU. If we Remain, we know the UK's contribution will go up to make sure the EU budget is balanced. So what happens to the EU budget if we Brexit?
