well if true we will never know because city don't say a dickie bird about anything

Just doesn't add up.... no official confirmation we were actually in for him and then this dramatic U-turn reported...with the player making a statement which sounds like it was not happening anyway

hmmmmmmm........

It was definitely happening. He was due at CFA today to sign and be interviewed for CityTV but didn't turn up.

He probably looked at himself and wondered if he was indeed better than Jimmy Milner (who moaned about getting playing time) and decided that he's probably not, would get less time on the pitch and therefore less scope for international call ups, and therefore pulled the plug - can't complain. We all knew we were recruiting a bench warmer, but what he'll never know is if we did get a few injuries, would he have been able to prove himself and stake his claim for a first xi starting position

Lock this thread fuck him the bottler hope we make him regret his choice at the end of the season

It wouldn't surprise me if someone has had a word and told him to forget playing for England if he isn't a starter at City.

If the guy had second thoughts and changed his mind then we dodged a bullet, we need strong players and this looks like a weakness to me.

We were never after him. He became available via a weird clause in his contract. We thought it sounded like a good deal so made him an offer. He accepts and says he'll do the medical this weekend. He has second thoughts and decides he's not actually got enough confidence in his own ability to even try to get in our first team so pulls out at the last minute.

In a nutshell we didn't end up signing someone who wasn't a target in the first place.

Some one needs a word in Greg the red dykes ear about this. He wanted top English talent at top English clubs.. Or did he only mean rags n dippers? How will any English players ever get good enough if they don't play with the best?

What a great post
But he won't just regret it at the end of the season......hel regret it for the rest of his career.
Fabian Delph was here to fulfil the hg quota nothing more nothing less.
Any posters thinking he would have been an improvement on our current midfield is deluded.
