Ferguson retires - Moyes new manager

It amazes the way the press are talking about Moyes like he is that greatest manager in the world, if he was that great why has he been at Everton for 11 years? Because that is his level, no better and no worse. Sick of hearing why he is the perfect choice for the rags.

So why have United gone for him? They could of had the pick of pretty much any manager:-

Arsène Wenger - Can't take Le Arse any further, ticks the box in being loyal.
Paul Lambert - Below Moyes
Rafael Benítez - Won silverware, more than Moyes has
Martin Jol - Decent manager, I'd say better than Moyes
Brendan Rodgers - Gets teams playing football, shown he can handle a big club.
Roberto Mancini - He wouldn't anyway.
Alan Pardew - Over rated debt owing t***
Chris Hughton - Crap
Harry Redknapp - Been closer to the top 4 than Moyes and won a cup.
Nigel Adkins - I'd say on par with Moyes
Mauricio Pochettino - Needs a full season, don't really know much about him
Tony Pulis - Would have loved to get in the club shop
Paolo Di Canio - I would say he is below Moyes
Michael Laudrup - Fantastic manager, wouldn't be disappointed if he replaces RM in a few years
André Villas-Boas - Talented young manager and won silverware.
Steve Clarke - Not a million miles behind everton this season
Sam Allardyce - On par with Moyes for me
Roberto Martínez - Another great young manager

In my opinion 8 managers in our league alone that are at least on par or better than Moyes.

The Glazers business plan is about to unfold - This is why Moyes has got the job.

Manchester City manager Roberto Mancini says it was an honour and a pleasure to compete against Sir Alex Ferguson.

"For me, it has been a great honour and pleasure to compete against Sir Alex for three years," said Mancini. "It was a great honour to beat him in Old Trafford and I wish him good luck for his future."

I love it! It was a great honour to compete against Ferguson, and lest any one forget, it was a great honour to beat him at Old Trafford!! Roberto! Bloody Brilliant!

Haha, that is brilliant. Mancini's retorts and one liners have largely been ignored by the media, I wonder why.

You have to think of the swamp as something like the Borg.. a hive mind. Moyes hasn't been hired he's been assimilated. He'll be like Jean Luc Picard aka Locutus...the voice of the BORG.

No mention of his Head to heads against Chelsea,Arsenal,Spurs or Mickeys though.

The best part yesterday of the shrieking Scot Jim Whyte's "Live" reporting from The Swamp were the interviews with the United fans outside the Megastore.

5 fans were chosen (unusually all had Manc accents) each and every one sang the praises of the Trophy -less former Everton Manager.

I cant believe that you can get 5 Utd fans at random without any of them calling for Mourinho. Where's the "Agenda" thread gone.

I know a few reds.. work with a few as well. NOT ONE is happy with Moyes, not one!

It's gone from mild disappointment yesterday to "well name another manager in the prem who's better and we could get?" in work today.

Mentioned what about foreign coaches, "No we want someone who'll stay for a long time, the foreign ones will only do a couple of years then fuck off", also what about O'neil, Hughes, Bruce, Keane, Solksjaer, Mclaren, aren't these all supposed to have been moulded the 'Ushited' way?

Faces were priceless when i mentioned Moyes will only do a couple of seasons then get sacked he's that far out of his depth and they'll be looking again.

They're also in denial that people like Laudrup, De Boer, Simeone are better than Moyes. They've got him because he'll be a patsy for when it all goes tits up.

Had similar conversations with RAGs in work and majority (99%) totally pissed with having Moyes even more so than Fergie leaving.

1% who rate Moyes asked who else and when you give them relevant answers O'Neil worked under massive spotlight at their Celtic cousins and won trophies, Frank De Boer won trophies Euro experience brought up Barca way, Mourinho (obvious choice), Solksjaer who would have been given a fairer chance by the RAG hoardes as he is one of them it just doesn't register.

Give up in the end and tell them even the clown Hughes would have been a more suitable choice.

And the fans are like Cybermen. They replace their brains with computer chips so they can simulcast the lastest "message" to them.

This is a good point. For years the received wisdom was that Taggart's replacement was definitely going to be sourced from the ranks of managers who had played under Ferguson at united. Toe-curling articles about the relative merits of Bryan Robson, Paul Ince and He Who Wanks Off Dogs were a common feature in our nation's press.

Now that those imposters' shortcomings (and others') have been exposed to the point where the currency of their united connections has diminished to virtually nothing, we instead have 'The Chosen One' paraded like his time at Everton was just a warm up act for his life's destiny.

Anyone who cannot see the inherent bias in the media towards united over recent days really is beyond help.

just been speaking to a red at work about Moyes. Guess what, he's happy with the appointment and he said that he was his first choice once Guardiola wasn't available.

The funny thing is, he pronounced his name Moy-ez! Is this an example of how much your average utd fan knows about football or have they actually employed some top Spanish coach and not the joke from Everton?

I have never in my life witnessed such a concerted effort by the media in general and the rags in particular to collectively polish a turd.
Some of the revisionism from the usual suspects makes Stalin look like a novice.
If us or Chelsea had taken Moyes on, everybody would be making great play of the fact we had got rid of a manager who won things for one who doesn't, and how it was a retrograde step.
But because it's the rags, he is suddenly the Second Coming.
It really is fucking priceless.
