I have never in my life witnessed such a concerted effort by the media in general and the rags in particular to collectively polish a turd.
Some of the revisionism from the usual suspects makes Stalin look like a novice.
If us or Chelsea had taken Moyes on, everybody would be making great play of the fact we had got rid of a manager who won things for one who doesn't, and how it was a retrograde step.
But because it's the rags, he is suddenly the Second Coming.
It really is fucking priceless.
To think, for years all united fans did was point at us and simultaneously laugh and now fate has bestowed upon us the gift of reciprocation.

Do they still sing "let's all laugh at City" at old trafford any more?

Manchester City manager Roberto Mancini says it was an honour and a pleasure to compete against Sir Alex Ferguson.

"For me, it has been a great honour and pleasure to compete against Sir Alex for three years," said Mancini. "It was a great honour to beat him in Old Trafford and I wish him good luck for his future."

I love it! It was a great honour to compete against Ferguson, and lest any one forget, it was a great honour to beat him at Old Trafford!! Roberto! Bloody Brilliant!

Bwaaahahaha. He does come out with some corkers.

No mention of his Head to heads against Chelsea,Arsenal,Spurs or Mickeys though.

The best part yesterday of the shrieking Scot Jim Whyte's "Live" reporting from The Swamp were the interviews with the United fans outside the Megastore.

5 fans were chosen (unusually all had Manc accents) each and every one sang the praises of the Trophy -less former Everton Manager.

I cant believe that you can get 5 Utd fans at random without any of them calling for Mourinho. Where's the "Agenda" thread gone.

I know a few reds.. work with a few as well. NOT ONE is happy with Moyes, not one!

It's gone from mild disappointment yesterday to "well name another manager in the prem who's better and we could get?" in work today.

Mentioned what about foreign coaches, "No we want someone who'll stay for a long time, the foreign ones will only do a couple of years then fuck off", also what about O'neil, Hughes, Bruce, Keane, Solksjaer, Mclaren, aren't these all supposed to have been moulded the 'Ushited' way?

Faces were priceless when i mentioned Moyes will only do a couple of seasons then get sacked he's that far out of his depth and they'll be looking again.

They're also in denial that people like Laudrup, De Boer, Simeone are better than Moyes. They've got him because he'll be a patsy for when it all goes tits up.

Funny that because not long ago many United fans were proclaiming that while Mourinho hasn't stayed at any club for longer than 3 years or so, if he went to United it would be different and he would stay for a prolonged period. Now some of them are saying they never wanted him in the first place (like fuck they didn't).

I've no doubt that Moyes intends to stay for a long time at Old Trafford but that will count for the sum total of fuck all if it goes pear-shaped on his watch so all this talk about certain managers not staying for long enough and therefore not being suitable is complete bollocks.

PMSL!

If a top top manager isn't suitable for the position because they need a yes-man who is "sympathetic" (Wio's word I think) to the rag juggernaut, then how is it the "biggest job in the world"?

He's done very well on a limited budget, that might be the biggest reason.

I didn't realise what a good manager he was, until now.
Just you wait and see how good a manager he is if United win the charity shield game.
It'll be a 24 hour loop-a-wank on sly sports news. Theres already David Moyes the Messiah paraphernalia in production by the truckload to commemorate the momentous day the chosen one rose victorious in the preseason friendly with his band of boys assembled from the ashes of the passing of the passing of sports greatest everest manager. Set the telly to record the first match of the day too, that's going to be a pearler

I don't think he will be a turkey...I think Gollum will go on to win every piece of silverware that is put in front of him..

Bwwwaahahahahahaaaaaaaa......of course bloody not.

Well done Bobby, great bloody comment towards baconface.

How the tables have turned, my friend.
Yet seemingly at odds with the media and rag clamour for the canonisation and beatification of Saint David, the bookmakers are singularly unimpressed, as their price to retain the title has drifted markedly since the managerial appointment, not to mention the odd few million wiped off their value on the Stock Exchange, so hardly a great endorsement from the city either.
Which is a shame.

latest twist.

Fergie is ragging apparently as somebody close to him let the cat out of the bag about him retiring.

Apparently he wanted it kept quiet until *he* announced it on the pitch at the end of United's last home match.

What goes around.............
