Frenkie de Jong

Very weird situation this, player wants to stay at the club but the club can no longer afford him

absolutely disgraceful what Barcelona are doing across the board this summer

Where Is the investigation, trying to force players to lower their salaries but then tapping all and sundry up via their media mouthpieces

whats their current FFP status, they must be sailing close to the wind with accumulated losses , or are the writing it all off as COVID impact
Forget about it,as that’s what uefa will do they have no interest in looking into one of the cartel clubs, now if it was City or PSG well I think we all know what would be happening..

UEFA really should be intervening in the Barca situation. The club is insolvent and unable to meet its liabilities under the contracts it has entered into with its employees. It is unacceptable on every level and the authorities should, at the very least, insist that no further signings are made until all deferred payments under existing contracts are made.
Absolutely this.

I think the only thing they can intervene in though, is an actual breach of their rules. If agreed payments are being met currently and they've not yet breached FFP, there's nothing to call them out on despite the potential 'red flag'. We've said since the introduction of FFP that it wouldn't stop a club from going into administration
Can't UEFA just start an investigation 'because they must be doing something wrong'. Seems that's all that is needed for an investigation according to the head of la liga.

Ronnie apparently is willing to take a pay cut to escape from the mess. Frenkie may want to do the same not to get himself into the mess.

At tge Hotel Elba Village (or whatever its called).... Great pool, food is alright, but especially fantastic activities for the kids (and adults, for that matter).

Marca have seen FdJ's contract and it shows he's not earning the stupid numbers bandied about on here.

He was on £250k/week, in 2020 he restructured his deal so he'd only earn £50k during the pandemic, 150 last season and now Barcelona are about to have to pay him the deferred money.

Which explains why they're trying to sell him, his salary is about to effectively double.

Marca say FDJ wants the roughly 15m euro he deferred before he leaves and Barcelona are trying to fuck him out of it.

I'm a bit thick, what is it saying he earns?

When he signed for Barcelona he earned €14m a year which is roughly £250k/week. On here people have been suggesting it was between £400k and £600k.

When the pandemic hit he agreed a contract that reduced it it to 3m in 20/21 and 9m in 21/22 but saw him earn the lost money (roughly 15m euro) back in the later years of the deal starting from next year.

The light blue is a 2m euro bonus he gets for playing 60% of games.

So he'll be getting 20.88m in 22/23, the year after 27.7m.

Barcelona want to sell him now to get out of paying the deferred wages.

Cheers mate. Can't say I'm surprised that his rumoured wages were nowhere near being accurate.

So is the reason we lost interest in FDJ because of his complicated contract situation with Barca?
