Gabriel Jesus 2018-19 performances

Needs a run of games. One could reasonably argue that dropping him after his hat-trick against Shakhtar was counterproductive, but then Aguero came in and was sublime. Guardiola has admitted that Chelsea didn’t set up as he’d anticipated today, so let’s hope faith is shown and Jesus starts the next couple of games.

Jesus never got a decent pass all afternoon , the teams creativity was non existent in the 2nd half and he cant be judged or criticised today ,if Aguero isnt fit then he has got to start the next two matches , to build some rythm and consistency , we are badly missing a fully firing Gabby.

Being dropped after that hat trick was really poor from Pep. Like any striker, needs a run in the team to get confidence back.

He scored two penalties in that hattrick and also missed a golden chance. He was never going to start Jesus in the derby and his form this season has been well off.

He needs a serious wake up, Because as much as I rate him, I expect Pep will be absolutely ruthless.

So what? Aguero has missed pens, Mahrez has missed the biggest one of the season so far.

Jesus makes a lot more space for Sane and Sterling and should have started today for that reason, we were so predictable going forward it was horrible.

He had 40 mins and didn’t make any difference whatsoever.
He’s a top prospect and has a great future but he’s not consistent enough right now. There’s no guarantee that him starting would have been the difference. For 44 mins we bossed that game.

Should have started, and those advocating the silly shape change, the disruption of what we’re good at, reap what you sow.,

Guardiola butchered our whole attacking system, to blame anyone but Pep today is folly.

U can make all the excuses u want the guy simply isn't good enough and his conversion rate belongs at rags. Mediocre .

So what if he runs about so would I playing for city . Hope he comes good but defo not good enough as it stands

Never said a harsh word about the lad till now but not sure now what it is he's best at. Maybe he's better in midfield or alongside a big striker to feed off because sole striker does not seem to be working .

I figured as much. We need to get another striker in the forthcoming transfer window.

We lose a game and suddenly he is scapegoated for a performance where he got subbed in after the heads dropped in the 2nd half. The other players were out of ideas and were not supplying him with good enough chances. Had 1 decent opportunity which Kepa saved very well. It is not his fault that Sterling and Sane messed around the box in the first half and forgot how to shoot. Collectively poor and we were mainly let down by poor execution of opportunities, which Chelsea on the other hand easily converted twice.

I have found an interesting stat regarding Jesus on the Premier league website which confirms him as having the best shot accuracy in the Premier league thus far this season but also of any current Premier league player from all seasons played in their premier league career.

Jesus shooting accuracy this season is 57% and overall in premier career is also 57%. Only Aubameyang hits 50% of current players, all the rest are below 50%. No one comes near to him for accuracy not even Kane or Salah. Now if only he would stay onside more often! For record Aguero is 35% this season. Sterling is next best for City this season on 53%.

I have a different and more important statistic for this PL season:

Time for a goal needed:

Jesus 1 goal in 507 minutes = 507 minutes for 1goal.
Sterling 8 goals in 1116 minutes = 140 minutes for 1 goal.
Sane 6 goals in 826 minutes = 138 minutes for 1 goal.
Aguero 8 goals in 965 minutes = 121 minutes for 1 goal.

Jesus is underperforming this season.
