When I was a kid, if I asked my nana where any female was - usually my mum - she would say she has ran away with a black man.

Never understood where that came from

My mam and gran both said that. If we asked what was for tea they'd answer "shit with sugar on"
Remember them discussing a woman on the street who's husband must have died recently. "he's still warm in the grave and she's out every night gallavanting (never knew what that meant). She'll have to be buried in a Y shaped coffin that one"
