I said elsewhere, some of the people at CFG don't have a clue about football?

Doesn't mean there aren't people there I do speak to who I do take more seriously, if that also makes sense?

There are people at CFG who couldn’t give a toss about football, not interested in any shape or form and that’s deliberate at time too.

People are hired for a role not because they are knowledgable about football or city fans, apart from the obvious football core people most I know at city don’t even like football, and a couple actually don’t even look at the scores !

There might be on Monday if England go out
Going off United completing Sancho's transfer I was just thinking if both our targets were with England's camp a deal could be done if everything was in place, regardless of when their run ends. I do know Kane's made it clear he'll only worry about his future on club level after Euros, but Grealish is there.

How much of a long run do you want to wait to see if those are anywhere near good while rags and Chelsea win trophies because they actually signed players for this season?

Our squad is already too weak as the drop off in quality when the regulars were rested showed in games last season. We need to be strengthening not weakening.

The whole club should be hurting and angry about the CL Final shitshow and doing everything we can to make sure we win it next year as well as the title again.
I'm in agreeance with you on premise, but one of the problems I think we run into is the back-up from the regulars tends to drop because they don't get game time and can lack motivation. Youth players are so much more exciting from a fan perspective and are usually wanting to impress.

I don't think we challenge better for the trophies by buying "more" backups, I prefer to us buy quality (Grealish, Haaland), even if that means we have to let a few go.

For what it's worth, I think the squad balance is "almost" about right, but I disagree with the idea that buying more backup or squad players is the solution.

I don't mean to say we need to reduce the squad by much, but our squad last season had 21 players, which I think would be better served by trimming that down to 18 + 3 academy backups.

Aguero is already gone, so that's down to 20. So if Kane and Grealish come in, I could see maybe 3 more going in Jesus, Bernardo, and Ake/Laporte, with a squad size of 19, then add 2 or 3 youth. If we could somehow get rid of Mendy, then it's done.

And that’s probably a positive.. been too much nepotism in football for years… people well in getting jobs they are not qualified to do. If CFG want a marketing specialist or a Nutritional specialist - you hire the best regardless of who they support Or if they are interested in football. Swales regime was full of incompetent blues….

What a load of crap.

WE pay the fee, if you go to the game, pay to watch it on TV, buy the latest Puma crap or buy anything MCFC, even fill up your car with GAS, we contribute.

As fans of this club we don't want to see this club pay over the market value for players because of who we are and at the same time sell valuable assets at less than the market price again because of who we are and we can afford to lose the cash.

Barca, Real and the Rags have shown recently how spending irresponsibly can result in losing your place at the top of the food chain.

If we were to spend 200m on two players this summer and they did not produce, and next summer we would have to buy again to replace them, it would have a serious knock on effect, FFP is still relevant.

Ridiculously over the top post.

The point I was clearly making is it isn't "my" money or "our" money, it's City's.

At no point did I say, or even alluded that FFP isn't important.

...but might also explain why the club doesn't seem to care about all the negative, biased stories in the press. Non-football people don't understand how much it means to fans.

We really have to ask how much they can do, and why our feelings need protecting anyway. The media is the media is the media. People lap it up when they like a story, then cry when they don't? Good grief, when will people get some perspective on modern life?

Do they? Maybe you shouldn't assume too much and think you're above and beyond everyone.
