Jack Grealish

Who cares?!
Well I care if my club is reviled by a massive majority of football fans in England and overseas.
People on here say that the Daily mail stories today are complete bollocks but millions of people absolutely believe them, and the more hundreds of millions we lavish on players the worst it will get.
I don't like my club being hated.

Yeah it sucks and I feel the same way too, but it's part and parcel of being the best.

What we don't see on the internet is that in the real world, plenty of folk love City. Unfortunately (I suppose) that's the more "global" element of the fanbase as a general rule, but we're a lot more popular and beloved than people realise.

We finished 12 points off with Grealish out for more than a third of the season. We were on course around Christmas before he got injured. This is exactly what the club will be selling to Grealish - if we don't make it by 2023 then I'm sure he will go. It's sad that so many of you seem to have forgotten what it's like to have a proper connection with one of your players.
Ambition it’s called like any other profession. You have no idea whether you would have won those games or not, pure speculation. If you really think that you can make top four without some really serious investment in top players and a top manager you are deluding yourself. The last statement shows your complete lack of knowledge about our club. Plus I have seen your connection with former players first hand and it wasn’t pretty.

I still don't agree that we should be spending hundreds of millions on overvalued players.
We already are attacked in the press continually for buying our team.

I just feel now we have spent a billion or so it's time to start bringing through some of this young talent at our academy.
It seems that besides Foden we are not giving these lads a chance, and I know people say we sell them as they're not good enough, but what about Sancho for example, we didn't give him a chance.
The more we buy established players like Kane and Grealish the less chance for our academy players to progress at our club.

PR is very important. In my opinion we need to be perceived as a club the gives youth a chance.
When are players like Doyle and Delap ever going to have a chance ?

You finished 12 points off top 4 in a season where every single team fighting for it was seemingly trying to throw away their top 4 chances. Being on course around Christmas is commonplace, there's nearly always a team in that unexpected situation every season before tailing off. You was also 12 points off 15th Southampton who coincidentally have found themselves ahead of course for a top 4 finish at Christmas a few times in recent years.

Every team wants to believe their club can reach the champions league, nothing wrong with dreaming but Grealish or not, Villa are miles and miles away. A team like Everton are at least half a decade if not a full one ahead of Villa in their attempts to push for a top 4 spot and they're nowhere near. Leicester have fallen at the last hurdle twice now and look at the standard of their squad compared to villa. Even a Leicester-style miracle that sees villa somehow take a top 4 place will be an anomaly.

I personally don't want Grealish here. I don't think he's good enough and he doesn't bring anything to our side that 3/4 current players can already offer so I hope he stays at Villa but if he has ambition to play at the very top and win, not matter how much the villa hierarchy sell him the dream, it's not going to be realised at Villa.

Disagree about been hated.

We were pre take over most peoples second favorite club. Why? Because we were serial losers, no threat to any of the leading players and as a fan base we did not take ourselves too seriously.

We are now the polar opposite, serial winners , not only a threat, we are starting to dominate.

The only change that has happened and it's sad, is self entitlement by some of our fans and some of the long standing ones at that. The attitude on here when you disagree about the club signing a player, sums up where we are starting to lose it, in term of our fan mentality.

I love the winning but don't forget where we were before the takeover and appreciate what we have now.
