Great dribbler, both across the pitch and down it, and (on his day) his passing's on a par with KDB IMO. Looks as energetic defensively too. Just can't stand how he uses "initiating contact" as a tactic (much like Kane does).


Every player makes the most of a foul from time to time and exaggerates how much it a tackle hurt.

Not every player goes looking for the contact when they're in trouble or in a dangerous area of the pitch.

This greasy prick goes down exactly the same way every time he feels contact from behind. Cheat! Plain and simple.
I don't get it, he's talent and ought to see diving as below him and a tool used by the less talented.

If he cuts out the bullshit he'll do fine with us. If he keeps it up, I just hope he gets called out for it if he's wearing sky blue.

Passing on a par with KDB, behave, there are few world players capable of producing the passes that he can and Grealish is definitely not one of them.

yea Grealish was top 4 for assists and top 3 for chances created only behind KDB. He also had 2nd most take ons in the league. and his defensive contribution surprised me on how much he works for the team. 61% tackle success rate 644 duels won and 60 interceptions that’s only two less than Rodri.

I could see Pep making him into a box to box midfielder, a complete player, he has the energy and the personality to do it.

I still don't agree that we should be spending hundreds of millions on overvalued players.
We already are attacked in the press continually for buying our team.

I just feel now we have spent a billion or so it's time to start bringing through some of this young talent at our academy.
It seems that besides Foden we are not giving these lads a chance, and I know people say we sell them as they're not good enough, but what about Sancho for example, we didn't give him a chance.
The more we buy established players like Kane and Grealish the less chance for our academy players to progress at our club.

PR is very important. In my opinion we need to be perceived as a club the gives youth a chance.
When are players like Doyle and Delap ever going to have a chance ?

I'm looking at it from the perspective of Villa and Jack. There's so much optimism here atm, that we can keep moving up the league. FFP means we can't do it on spending power alone, as Chelsea and City did. The club are recruiting really cleverly, though. Buying young talent. I'd say 90%ish of our buys have increased in value, which is great.

Jack is our marquee player, though. He's an inspiration. For where we want to go, you need to have players of Jack's quality. Imo, we have 4, maybe 5, players good enough to play for a top 4 team atm. Lose Jack, the best of the lot, and it's a HUGE step back in what we're trying to achieve. £100m won't compensate for the loss of our talisman.

From Jack's pov, regardless of other teams' fans pointing out nice things he's said about their club on Tw@tter, he's true love is Villa. He's bought into the owners' vision, which they're delivering on up to now. He didn't need to sign for 5 years last summer. He did so because it's his club, I believe. I think he was always in for another two years when signing, if we were improving, I'm sure he is ambitious, but I'm sure his ideal would be to win things with Villa. Yes, that's a BIG ask right now, we're not deluded, but the fans see the club is trying, and making good decisions. Jack sees that, too.

Now, come next summer, if we're 11th again, and not getting any nearer top 4, he may start 'considering options'.

Of course, footballinsider could be 'right', and I could look a total fool, when he signs for you the day after his holiday finishes. :-) I just don't believe it, at this moment in time.

Grealish definitely only loves Villa and will do his best to ensure the club is in the best position it can be.

I think a lot of what you say is hope fueled, which is fair enough, as that's how we all end up taking information when it comes to our respective clubs.

Villa are building a good squad but to challenge for what? Domestic cups, a europa league place perhaps. It's not quite league titles and CL success, which is what all top players want.

I think Villa could do a lot with £100m to help them challenge domestically. The fans will have lost a huge player but if the club can get two or three big signings with the cash then you'll have more weapons in your arsenal.

We shall see how it plays out. It is City or Villa from the current paper talk. It's good to have fans from other clubs on here, even if you might get a lot of shite from some. Stick in there. We welcome most fans other than rags and dippers! Directly linked to the shite they chat.
