I'm watching Jonjo Shelvey and funnily enough nearly every statistic supports my conclusions, not that you are weak enough to be seduced by anything like actual evidence. But he has "tenacity" which is an unquantifiable and largely pointless attribute.

It's not a ludicrous defence, it is pretty consistent with what a lot of people have said throughout the thread and is once again actually supported.

If you'd said any of:
Dembele
Matic
Inler
Matuidi
Gonalons
Schneiderlein
Wanyama

I wouldn't have disagreed they could play Garcia's role. But you said Shelvey. I'd be surprised if most people in this thread couldn't see why he'd be a useless replacement for Garcia.

Shelvey plays far more advanced role than Garcia so isn't a good example in the first place. Canas does a job for Swansea in Garcia's position, would of cost us a lot less too.

Canas not a good call not as good as garcia and again has to play in a 3 man midfield as he has, nt got the legs to play in a 2 theres 2 players we could go for in the summer both young extremley gifted with great pace and stamina BARKLEY AND POGBA.

Barkley is a #10, plays the same role as Shelvey. The advanced of a 3 man midfield.

Vidal or Pogba would be the ideal choice. Both provide going forward and defence. Schniederlin would be a good purely defensive choice, Javi Martinez another. Clearly out of favor at Bayern, may be willing to move.
