100% agree. The only reasonable justification for DeJong going could only have been that he was beyond greedy.

He's earning 80k pw at Milan which is a similar amount to what he was earning here, so i don't think greed has anything to do with his decision to leave.

Didn't he run down his contract?
If he did he would have been a free agent and negotiated a good signing on fee.

He had one year left on his contract and we sold him for £3.1M.

I am quite amazed at the "he did nothing wrong" comments. For christ's sake, we are not trying to avoid relegation. Not even satisfied with CL. We want the bloody title. And he ain't close to being good enough. I would play Rodwell any day over him. He at least is young and has potential.

100%

He has been given enough chances and has proved he isn't good enough. If the alternative is to give a young player his chance we should go that way. Worst case is just the same result. With any luck if it's not Jack Rodwell, we will find a youngster who can step up when it matters.

Without going too much over old ground reading these tiresome, ridiculous comments, did Richards do anything wrong at Sunderland ? Yes, he was caught badly out of position when it mattered and as a result we conceded a goal which ultimately cost us the game ! I'd rather have a player 'do nothing wrong' than one who continually makes mistakes that cost us games of football ( Hart, Richards ). Instead of pointing the finger at a player who, as you agree, 'did nothing wrong' why not point at players who DO do things wrong and cost us the game ! It is difficult for the likes of Garcia, Rodwell, Milner, etc, to come in and play well straight away when they are in and out of the side as general 'squad' players. Even Richards I will sympathise with because of this. As with many sensible blues I agree that Garcia has done OK and the job he has been asked to do, support the defence and link up with the likes of Ya Ya, in every game he has played in. I think the likes of Toure need to look at their contributions in some of these games.

There we go again with pointing the finger at Micah for that goal. Micah was marking his man ( Johnson ) and Milner was marking his man (Bardsley ). Wtf was Micah supposed to do, double team Bardsley and leave Johnson free?

Try sitting in work today and doing more or less nothing. When your boss questions your contribution just tell him that at least it meant you did nothing wrong. I'll be interested to hear what response you get.

Re: Javi Garcia (merged)

Rodwell can't stay fit but I think we should give abdi Ibrahim a shot ahead of Garcia, he's back from loan now and by all reports he's been playing brilliantly for Stromgodsdet

Re: Javi Garcia (merged)

This negativity towards our players is counter productive, it's not only the players who need to change attitudes, we need to stick together asp otherwise we can kiss goodbye to the title, garcias best game for us was in fact Chelsea away sunderland was a total shambles from team selection to performance, what is developing here is a whipping boy mentality towards Garcia something we have had since the days of joe mercer when tony Coleman became the figure 11? It doesn't matter what we think we won't change the mangers mind so if the booing starts on this lad then we are definitely playing with ten men, I'm sure the lad is trying his best but to use this lad as an excuse for a complete team Fk up at our away performances is narrow sighted. The lad is Complete opposite to de Jong he was bought for his Ariel ability which was the way we developing last year.

I'd love to know how people know what these players are earning.

Actually, he's on less than i stated. Roughly £48K pw.

Using today's exchange rate, he's on £52,000/week at Milan, but note it says AFTER tax - so it'd be what, £104,000/week in England (is our tax rate 50% for footballers?)?

Don't use fucking facts in a discussion about NDJ. He played every game in our title winning season and won the universe cup twice on his own

Garcia's passing is good, he's good in the air and he's good at intercepting the ball. He's slow and sometimes is stranded in a two man midfield with Yaya who rarely offers his partner much support at all.

If anyone here honestly thinks Garcia is at the heart of our problems than I'd like to know what you think of 4-6 top class players frequently disappointing away from home?

Zaba, Clichy, Rodwell when he plays aren't expected to do much more than their job but we expect Garcia to be some sort of Gerrard / De Rossi / Vidal type figure.

It's not "more or less nothing".
