I could take either decision when it comes to Hart. If Pellegrini decides to back Hart, I'll support it. If he decides to give Pantilimon a run, I support it. Both sides of the argument make sense.
My thoughts exactly, I've always backed joe but the mistakes are too often, however I'm far from convinced about Pants...one things for sure the best reaction to Hart being selected again on Saturday (which I think he will) is to sing his name and let him know we are right behind him.

Joe was at his best when he had Given breathing down his neck for the number one slot, Time to give Panti ago and let him know he needs to on his A game every game or will be dropped. My pet hate with joe apart from the mistakes is his distribution of the ball it is terrible, all he seems to want to do is kick it long after holding the ball for 10 minutes. Then when he boots it out it just comes back and puts us under pressure, from what I saw of Panti in the wigan game just gone he was rolling and throwing the ball out to set up quick counter attacks.

Joe needs to get shitloads of practice in.. These long range goals are becoming the norm.. I remember Sturridge last year scored one from a way out..what has happened to the Joe Hart who payed in goal away to spuds 3 years ago 1st game of the season..??
I think hes gone backwards since,,but more practice should do the trick..
This and the display against Dortmund were the best goalkeeping performances I have ever seen.

88% of the other place think Joe should

To be fair, last night it was all he could do to get the damn thing out of our half, at least until Dzeko didn't win the header against the 2 centre backs, and it came straight back.

This is Joe's first serious dip in form for the past 3 or 4 years and it's fuck all to do with his hair product promotions.

Perhaps it will take a spell on the subs bench or perhaps it will take a period of perseverance from both Pellegrini and Hodgson. He'll eventually come through the difficult times but not before the media has taken large unsightly chunks out of his confidence.

What he doesn't need is crucifying from his own fans, especially some of the gobshites on this forum. Get behind him and cheer him on FFS!![/quote]

Too right.
There's a few need chucking out of this thread.

I'm not sure I buy this argument. I can't think of any club that has two top quality keepers fighting for the No1 spot. Most clubs just have a No1 keeper and back up.

What does Pants have to do to prove himself?

Just askin like.

Pants is one of those players who seems to get better on here the more he doesn't play. Those calling for Pants to replace Hart will be in for a shock as he is a far worse keeper. The first Bayern goal that Hart got a hand to and should have done better with Pants wouldn't have even got down in time to get a hand on it. His strength is his height so he can claim the ball from corners but low down shots he gets down like a wardrobe.
The only way you could make a comment about Panti not getting down for it would be if it happened! Also you are clearly wrong about him getting down like a wardrobe as seen vs Arsenal in the Carling cup, Chelsea in the Semi Final, the long range shot from the Barnsley player and of course when Ribery turned Zaba inside out in the Audi cup and then shot low from close range and Panti got down to make a great save. Its Hart who takes forever to get down to low shots and who always gets beat with them. Even the 1 on 1's with Mata and Forrestieri in the FA Cup Panti closed them down and saved well where as Hart constantly gets rounded like he isnt there

Pants also saved that perfect bottom corner shot from Mandzukic. Mandzukic had a look of disbelief that he didn't score.

As I've said before, I haven't seen enough of Pants' all around keeping to say whether I rate him or not, but saving the corners definitely seems one of his strengths.

Hart isn't getting crucified anywhere except for one or two over the top posters which you get on any subject. This is a forum where we can slag off mistakes and bad performances, unless a player reads posts on here no harm is done. When we are at the match we get right behind Hart and the rest of the players,i didn't hear anyone getting on his back last night, just odd grumbles about how he should have saved goals one and three, which he should have.

His level has dropped a fair bit this season and he is getting beaten by shots he would have saved easily a couple of years ago which is a cause for concern.
