The real issue is deffense in general. Benching Hart is just covering up the problem, not real solution. MP so far does not have solution and seems lost. We already wasted so many points to recover for title run. MC owners should react by bringing new signings or find other way to help MP who is not up to the task
There's no issue other than injuries to Demichelis and Kompany.

If you score 2-3 goals away and that is not enough for win, not even draw. Constant stupid goas in our net, mistakes in last deffending line, wrong deffending tactics etc. Playing like that we will never have title run. Check how many goals are in Arsenal or Liv net, even better, check Italian league where Roma has 10 wins with only onw goal in their net (new liga record)....please be serious...

-- Fri Nov 01, 2013 8:17 pm --

I'm old enough to remember Keith MacRae.
And big Joe who had his own problems

Listening to the news, Joe Hart is rivalling a US air strike so I guess when it gets that kind of profile there's an argument for taking him out of the spotlight. The trouble is that now we've caved in, the spotlight will be double the intensity when he comes back

I hope Joe is strong enough to come back from this.

Media coverage for this is ridiculous. Any other keeper in any other team wouldn't even get mentioned but Hart has had fucking rolling news coverage for weeks. I think dropping him and getting him out of the spot light is the right thing to do but I don't think pants is anywhere near as good as some people seem to have got in their heads.

MacRae was the guy that was supposed to replace Big Joe and we know what happened next.

If Hart isn't strong enough to overcome this, he isn't what we need.

i really wish pants all the best.....and really joe comes back stronger...the media is a joke in the UK....joe should and will ignore it ...like he has done previously

Haven't looked at the media reaction yet, I take it we're back to ruining English football again?

Ridiculous? He's England's no 1 with a world cup just around the corner. Imagine Gerrard getting dropped by Liverpool for poor form.

It's already ruined. We did that in 2011/12.

We've moved on to international football now.

Jovetic.

He's been dropped for a poor run of form. He's not been sacked. Panty in, who'll do a fine job tomorrow.
No drama.

Done the right thing Pellergrini dropping Joe Hart . Could Nastasic be on his last chance as well . The way Joe Hart his playing at this moment he deserves to be dropped . No other company would put up with mistake after mistake . I agree the media are a joke .

I personally would be gutted if hart isnt in the team. he clearly has the talent. Tbh kinda sad that we wont have english players in the team, we won the league with a core of enlglish players ie Hart, lescott, barry, richards, milner. No we basically dont really have any- that are mainstays in the team. I think every succesful team needs a core of english players.

But club teams will only be successful if those English players are good enough for the highest levels of club football - in our case the Champions League and that's where too many English players (apart from the obvious few) come up short.

I'd rather have a core of decent players and at the moment it seems to be one or the other.

I think Hart, richards, barry maybe milner are good enough though. United, chelsea arsenal won the champions league with english players I think we can to. All of there english players werent world beaters either

tbh think its sad that a top english team wont have any english players

I think dropping him for the Norwich game is the right decision. But I would like to see him back for the CSKA game. I think anything longer than the Norwich game will cause him problems. should be enough to instill the focus he needs.

to be fair its not often the England national team goalkeeper gets dropped from club games. In fact I really cant remember when, but Pelle is employed to look after Citys interests and rightly so, right decision Joe needs to grown a pair and show how he got there in the first place. End of
