Joe is lucky that we have a new manager, otherwise he'd probably have been dropped already, as Platt already said that Mancini was looking to replace him.

He needs to take this opportunity to show that mistakes made last year were a one off.....and he hasn't made the best start doing that.
Absolutely fuck all to do with form or ability though

-- 04 Oct 2013, 08:39 --

any other player in the squad would be dropped if they showed poor form or made mistakes , if joe hart is the keeper i think he is , he will come back stronger , I remember joe corrigan losing confidence and he came back to be a truly brilliant keeper , and i think joe can do the same .So lets see what he is made of , drop him and make him play for his place , its the same for every other squad member , why should hart be guaranteed a pace no matter how he plays?
How the fuck does a keeper play for his place. Bring him on with 80 minutes played

A lot of support today from colleagues and coaches,it wont do him any harm.

I think he should keep his place tomorrow, such a show of confidence will do wonders I believe, and besides, being realistic,he's hardly a liability.

The media can do one. Joe's our keeper
I haven't seen/read/heard the media on Joe but what are they trying to say?

I can't imagine that it'd be much more than:
Hart had at least 2 shocking errors last night.
Should Hogson play him in the games coming up?

Never a fan of the media but if this is the case, then that's hardly much...
They're only worried about their precious England, and will he make mistakes that cost us world cup qualification.

Not sure about the best thing to do but it appears that he not only lets in more that you would expect him to save, but he also doesn't stop as many of the shots that you might not expect him to, the sought that separates great keepers - eg rooney free kick

worrying combination

You think any keeper could of saved the Rooney free kick in the 4-1?

Does anyone have stats regarding how many chances or shots on goal it takes to score on Hart? I have a feeling that he must be one of the worst goalkeepers in the league as every opportunity seems to result in a goal this season. Hart is of course not the only one to blame, but I would still be interested. Anyways, hope Costel will be the choice tomorrow, he deserved much better treatment after the semi against Chelsea last season.

Hart needs taking out of the firing line for a game. I would invent an injury and send him on holiday for two weeks. No public humiliation of dropping him and the inquest that would follow. Let him play against Everton and for England them send him away to get his head sorted. We have West Ham away which Pantimillion is probably better suited to anyway then bring him back for the Chelsea game.

I was thinking the same. Play Hart against Everton and if he does well then stick with him; if he has another bad game bring Pantilimon in for the away at West Ham.

One other thing I dont buy into is the lack of competition. Who was Schmeichel's understydy at Utd and Denmark? Don't think they were pushing him much in terms of place competition. I like Joe and hope he succeeds, but whether he does or not is completely in his control, and if he needs pushing via another top keeper that would suggest a flaw in character that the top players dont have - they continue to improve irrespective of that. He has shown he can perform consistently at the necessary level - 2009-2012 - he just needs to get back there, and quick.

Its bloody typical of some peoples attitude "should do better" mate.I can guarantee that had it it been Yaya who scored that free kick, then one and all on here would have been wanking themselves silly over a "world class free kick".
