joe hart

Comparisons between Joe Hart and Joe Corrigan are interesting.
Joe Corrigan was a big young keeper who showed early promise, but then went through a bad patch where he seemed to suffer from a lack of confidence, which he eventually overcame.
Joe Hart was a big young keeper who benefited from a season loan to Birmingham and came back stronger, but then seemed to suffer from arrogance and over-confidence. Pride goes before a fall. Head and shoulders? Definitely not. Can he turn it around? The jury is still out.

Ahh, apologies if so. My cynicism levels are overloaded at the moment. It must be my age.

shameful to call some of these city fans gone is the support that decades of failure built up oh the joy of watching that midfield wizard stevie lomas. but it developed me into a football fan one that can understand a players failures and merits hart is a very good goal keeper and the fundamental part of our english quota in the last two seasons we have seen 3 men at the back and now the defense pushing up only zab escapes criticism hart did not make the 2 biggest mistakes that night clichy and pellers did i wont join raggie sky sports talk shit or that so called fa employee gary neville in persecuting another city player i saw that with big joe and james as for harts kicking we have been pressing the person who wins the ball not the first ball same with throw ins but then that is probably harts fault as well

I hope we're all gonig to give him a good rendition of "England's England's number 1 " on Saturday to get behind him and show him our support.

There's nothing like the old tradition of building someone up to knock them down. The media love it.

This, when he collected the ball towards the end he got a sarcastic cheer, as much as he did not have a good game, we are there to support our team and our players. When players are down they need encouragement, taking the piss isn't going to help.

You can argue that you pay your money to go and see city and so you can say what you think (within reason obviously) and that is fair enough, but our culture as City fans is so different to this. It feels as if we are slipping away from what we once were, something which was so fantastic and unique to our support. I doubt I am the only one who feels like this.

I agree that is totally out of order, reminds me of what was dished out to Corrigan and Edghill during matches. However there is no reason why a player's mistakes and weak points can't be discussed on here and similar forums, some posters on this thread seem to think we shouldn't even be doing that.

I wish people would accept that those asking for Joe to be dropped are doing so because they fear our season could be over before it's begun and (speaking for myself) want it for his own good. There's a lot to admire Joe for, he has all the attributes to go on and become one of the best in a generation - but, as it stands there are serious issues. Mentally he looks shot, his whole demeanor has changed over the last 12-18 months, his overall standards have dropped with his kicking, commanding of box, shot stopping all regressing.
This isn't something that's only occurred in the last 6 weeks, it's been slowly creeping in for a while.
Joe himself might say that the only way to come out of a dip like this is to play yourself into form - right now, it's not something I feel we cant risk.

Joe is very young, he is still considered one of the best, he is as mcfc as any other player we have now. We will bring in lots of players over the years but I had thought we had found 1 player we would see every week for the next few years. If he stays peaked then you could get 7 years out of him. We all know the talent is there. All I'm saying is if we are going to be relying on JH for the next few years unless someone worthy comes along, lets not pretend we are losing faith in him, no mater if we lose this season, next season, and maybe the next one, I don't think JH is the problem anymore, even if he is not at his best yet this season

Leave Joe alone, when fellow PROFESSIONAL goalkeepers come out on his behalf then you know he is working at getting back to winning ways. He didn't, one morning, say to himself, right I am going to be a bad goalkeeper today. And all this flaming criticism is not going to help the lad's confidence!!!!

One player does not a squad make!! Oh blimey how many more times this season am I going to type those words!!??

~ENGLAND, ENGLAND'S NUMBER ONE, ENGLAND, ENGLAND'S NUMBER ONE~

Maybe on second thought, if we could find a 1 season replacement, he does look like he needs to refocus on his career. I don't know how he trains, but I do remember not that long ago he was a legend. You could always rely on him to play very good games, that was at least a year ago tho.

I never get this argument. :P

So, is Panti not a City player too? Can I support him playing without being called "shameful?" I mean how often here do players call for kolarov to be benched for Clichy? How about Navas for Milner? or Negredo for Dzeko or Nastasic for Lescott? Are those who want to see these changes shameful too?

Or is there something uniquely special about Hart, that one can't point out he has been down and perhaps Pantilimon should be given an opportunity?

Talkshite just now.. Pellegrini not sure if Hart will be in goal tomorrow, did i hear that right?

It is time to be ruthless. City can no longer carry passengers no matter how much of they are highly regarded amongst the fans.

He said he would not tell the conference as he had not told the players the team yet. It is a fair comment to make as why would the press be told the team before the players? The press will obviously twist it all around to say he has no confidence in him blah blah and all that rubbish.

Then quite simply, he has no place in this team.

My exact thoughts, bottom line is he's just not good enough at the moment and needs dropping !

Tomorrow we all need to show hart our support. We need an "England's number one" to boom round the stadium.
