I hope for one we get JT, Toure & Lescott but in all honesty I think we may only get 2 of them, strength in depth in all departments is needed, so we do need to keep hold of Nedum.

Look at us yesterday Dunne injured, Nedum injured had to drop Barry back, this cant happen next year more valuable in the middle of the park.

If and when we sign the 3 players mentioned - I would like to see the comments from Ancelotti, Baconface, Wenger & Benitez in the papers the next day stating how we wont be a threat to top four.

I still think that Terry is uncertain as to which way he'll jump, but we're nearing the end game now and matters will be resolved one way or the other this week, when both clubs are back from their tours. I suspect that it could still go either way, and Terry himself is the only one who knows what would be the more likely outcome.

but fulham rd the most telling thing is cfc have said he will stay so why still no statement from terry ? city and real madrid are realisticly the only teams that have the dosh to buy terry so its a very serious bid from a club who can compete money wise for his signiture so to be so dismissive and still get no statement is very strange don't ya think ?

Most fans are fickle and aren't fussed as long as he stays- which many are overconfident about. My opinion is that I'm dissapointed with him. After all those statements about loving Chelsea and being a one club man, and now he appears to be holding us at ransom for more money. Very dissapointed and if he stays he will have to convince me he is the real Mr. Chelsea.

to be fair he shouldnt have to hold them to ransom. if they value their captain so much he should have been rewarded long before city came sniffing.
chelsea IMO seem to think that because he's always pledged his loyalty to them in the past they dont have to bother, this senario proves they should have worked a bit harder to keep him happy.

It was my assumption at the time, but I don't think it's an unreasonable assumption, just based on the way the stories were written. They talked about what Chelsea expected, which would usually mean it's come from the club, and echoed comments from the manager and various players this week.

I know that on its own this doesn't mean much, but one of the ITKs on here also suggested that Chelsea's communications guy (Simon Greenberg? - sorry, don't have time to check the name) had held an off-the-record press briefing in LA. And the stories were written, generally, by reporters who are covering the tour, weren't they? One or two of them did make references to Chelsea sources, I think. This is my recollection of it, anyway, but, again, I don't have time to go and check. If correct, then it does really point towards Chelsea.

If it did come from Chelsea, then I think there are two reasons it's because they are clearly making it as difficult as possible for Terry if he does want to go, and this fits with that strategy. If he does go, it will allow them to characterise him as a money-grabbing liar, and he'll know that. I don't think the club will look stupid - they'll offload all the blame onto the player, and he'll face an absolute storm of abuse in the press.

My hunch is that he'll stay, for that reason. I'd have thought the saga may well damage his standing among Chelsea fans, however, although you'll be able to judge that better than me.

You know Richard Dunne held out for an improved contract last summer and that was pretty quickly forgotten, so you might find once your playing week in week out(assuming he stays)the cloud clears quicker that you might think. Also if he does stay I'm sure they will come up with a story as to why nothing has been said between Chelsea and Terry.

Hiddink was interviewed by David Davies on Radio 5's Sportsweek. They didn''t say it as Live so I think it was recorded in the recent past.

Hiddink is still in contact with Chelsea officials including Wilkins, but doesn't talk to them on a daily basis. He has spoken to Terry since he left.

He said that he thinks Terry will stay, but he was cagey. Suggested that Terry wants to fight for trophies, and is concerned that they may not do so. With his Chelsea connections I was expecting Hiddink to be very dismissive of City's bid, but it was just the opposite. He was very positive about City in general and the competition they would give the top 4.
