Look what Stones was to what he has become under Pep? Laporte was good but look at what we became under Pep? Gvardiol will be world class imo under Pep so no brainer.
Ok I won’tPlease don't tell me Inter have a Croatian in their squad. My nerves are shot already!
Personal terms agreed.
Ok I won’t
Bravo....When we signed Stones, he was poor 1v1, he just used to keep backing off until they were in the box and had scored. He was also prone to giving the ball away in build up trying to force line-breaking passes or getting caught in possession not releasing quick enough, he also lacked strength and could be bullied in the air.
Now he’s the best CB in the world and doesn’t have any of the weaknesses I mentioned above. And more than that, he’s elite at the things he used to be weak at.
So I don’t care if Gvardiol has some weaknesses at 21 years of age. All that matters is he has to tools to work with and an appetite to learn. Pep will do the rest.
Not being negative but it’s terms agreed with player but other clubs could have agreed those terms as well and then it’s down to negotiating a fee with his club along with any other interested parties..
Brozovic I think? Please don't tell me Inter have a Croatian in their squad. My nerves are shot already!
Didn’t I read the other day that the winners of the Champions league have all contained a Croatian player for the last 10yrs?! Can we not get him in before June 10th
trying to appease the CL gods but having 2 lined up in Gvardiol and Kovacic in some sort of loophole.Didn’t I read the other day that the winners of the Champions league have all contained a Croatian player for the last 10yrs?! Can we not get him in before June 10th
Well lets hope in Aug there isn't a Gvardiol nearly joined but the deal fell through at last minute thread. Not being negative but it’s terms agreed with player but other clubs could have agreed those terms as well and then it’s down to negotiating a fee with his club along with any other interested parties..
Whom else have we agreed with?Personal terms agreed.
I’m not against it at all but where does he fit in? Stones and Dias don’t deserve to be broken up (neither should be dropped) while you then have Akanji and Ake (who again, neither deserve to be dropped) as back-ups and both can play left back too.
He can’t exactly be comfortable being a direct replacement for Laporte considering how sparingly he’s been used this season.
That’s assuming Laporte leaves. Which seems likely but so has Bernardo for the past 2 years.
Injuries to Stones, Aké & Laporté have cost us dearly over the last few season. This is why Akanji has been my signing of the season.I’m not against it at all but where does he fit in?
