It is more to do with the overall mentality. It is controlling the urges that is the issue. At 21 and £100m that can't be overlooked. RB Leipzig supporters have mentioned this on their own forum.

Indeed, preferring superior positioning & anticipation and yet there he is, making slide tackles & not being inadequate. I think everyone would prefer our defenders not having to make slide tackles if they can avoid it (and still win possession) but have the ability to make them effectively when needed.

Nothing wrong with a sliding tackle when timed to perfection. The problem is that if it isn't, your taken out of the game or conceding a red or yellow card
 
Just for info,and for the benefit of those criticising/faulting him......he is 21 years old,the same exact age as THB and only 13 months older then Callum Doyle......he is one of the first names on the team sheet for both his club and country,and proved on numerous occasions he can play,brilliantly,against the best......while the above two have hardly made an impression on the game and are very much considered potential only.

Yes he has weaknesses,yes he can improve on aspects of his game.....but we are talking about a kid here.....lets not forget,despite his size and aura and very obvious brilliance.

That fine line that Otamendi often fell foul of! Gvardiol is young enough to be coached out of bad habits anyway

It looks like English reporters just heard about Leipzig wanting €100M, yesterday reports from Germany were saying that we bid €90M + add ons.They are late with this "news".
