Kalidou Koulibaly

Do you believe Txiki is incompetent or it is a lot more complex than we understand? Gen q

It is complexed yes, but when it gets to big deals, he seems to drift away from them and doesn't like getting involved in bidding wars.

Do i trust him to deliver a big young talent from time to time, like Erling Haaland for example... i don't no. He hasn't given us any reason to trust him especially when it comes to the more high profile signings. I want to trust him, but i just don't. He tends to like to position himself for players that have release clauses.

Sterling , KDB, Ederson, Bernardo ?

Garry Cook didn't have FFP to worry about.

I completely understand FFP is a hindrance, but seeing as we were prepared to go big on Messi this window, that says to me there is plenty of money in the bank to spend on players. We should be making sure we cover all weak areas of the squad. After all, Pep hasn't come anywhere close to winning the Champions league, so as a club we need to make sure we cover all areas of the squad with quality to give Pep the best chance of winning it.

Why haven’t we pulled the plug on this deal ??
Adl ain’t gonna take any less then what he wants and we ain’t gonna pay it !!!

should be moving on to another target

Ederson was an unknown quantity when we signed him as he was playing in a pretty poor league. I will give Txiki credit with the Bernardo signing, he played a blinder. As for Sterling, there was only really City chasing him and there wasn't much interest from the european giants for De Bruyne either and even that saga took a lot longer than it should have.

He has done some very good work, i am not disputing that, but his stubborness and reluctance to pay that extra bit for certain targets has cost us, particularly this season just gone.

For the amount of money City have spent on players since Pep has been in charge, we should not be resorting to playing with midfield players at centre back and at left back. Other teams have spent quarter of what we have spent and haven't seemed to have the same problems as us defensively.

Square pegs in round holes and all that.

Dont you think Kev (and others tbf) come into that category?

He was playing for Wolfsburg and i didn't see much competition for his signature.

You can bet your bottom dollar every man and his dog will want Haaland next season. Will Txiki get involved in a bidding war for him? I just don't see it.

I do agree with this, for me if Txixi cannot get it right this season from a decisive target standpoint - then serious questions need to be asked.

Spot on. Could City have been fucking with Napoli and go for another target? I’m almost starting to thin so. The club is usually insanely effective at wrapping up deals but this is taking too long.

Khaldoon just two weeks ago said there will be additional playERS coming in, apart from Aké and Torres. So where the fuck are they?

I have been patient throughout, but i expected this Koulibaly deal to have been done by now or at the very least signed 1 or 2 more additional players.

If we end up with Aouar, Koulibaly and a quality left back before the window shuts, i will be absolutely delighted, but we need to start getting a move on.

I think City will go back to Spain for transfers they are just easier to do really

Iv seen that two alot of sevilla fans say he is quality but rash, likes a foul thats the only thing that puts me off really

35 games 7 yellows in la liga
8 games 4 yellows in Europa league

Koundé got 6 in 29 and Fernando 13 in 34 and Navas 4 in 37

Yellows given out for fun in La Liga and record there doesn’t seem too bad.

Not saying he’s the solution but his Europa performance is the aberration rather than the full La Liga season for discipline.

He is inexperienced in relative terms though with this season only in Europe (which he won) and only this season in a “top” league & the 3 previous in France (although they did produce 50% of the Champs League semi-finalists this year).

how do you know all this stuff

Well it certainly seems that way, doesn't it?

We haven't been linked with any other players in other positions. The only concrete interest we seem to have is for Koulibaly.

I debated with another poster on here a few days ago when he criticised that the club had finished their transfer business and Koulibaly was unlikely to join due to the overall cost of the transfer, but i am starting to get a little bit frustrated. Things should be moving a lot quicker for us.

Otamendi should be gone by now, what is happening with Zinchenko? Are we even signing another left back?
Who is this forward we are supposedly interested in as a back up to Messi? We don't seem to be linked with anyone.

I hope Txiki can pull a rabbit out of the hat, but the longer this Koulibaly saga rolls on, the less confident i am of this window being a success.

This is a summer where two of our key players have left and a few of our best players are really starting to age, it is a pivotal transfer window for us and we must get it right. The squad just needs refreshening and energising.

He doesn't seem to back himself or have the cajones for me.

Garry Cook on the other hand had a more aggressive transfer strategy which laid the foundations at City for many years.
FFP has definitely put a stop to our big spending, we're very wary of it nowadays whereas when Cook was the CEO it was like fuck it, infact I'm not even sure it was a big thing then.

Always find it fascinating how many people are absolutely fully immersed into the transfer dealings of City. Gary Cook has a more aggressive transfer strategy? Jesus Christ

so in essence you know fuck all

I probably don't no, just like any of us on here, but i can make assumptions.

I just hope Txiki and co can get a move on in the market. This Koulibaly saga needs finalising before the Wolves game or else we leave ourselves with very little time to work on other targets.

Where we ever in for Messi. It was the media bigging it up.
