Keir Starmer

some desperation on here to oust ‘’Keith’’ (pathetic)

KS has finally given Labour a chance at winning a election, the only ones to trying to deny him are a few desperate Tory’s and momentum wannabes.
No one here is going to 'oust kieth' - it's a football forum. If he's still pedalling his wares at the next GE who knows what may happen, but I doubt he will be. A leader needs to be someone who acts according to what is happening, not someone who points at what has already happened and uses retrospective judgement. He's a clever and probably fairly decent bloke, but an absolute vacuum in terms of ideas and leadership.

Seems a bit odd though the way you keep pushing the narrative that his position is now untenable after removing the whip from Corbyn.

I wouldn't worry too much - I'm just an internet random with an opinion and only one vote. I've always thought and said Starmer was poor, but his cynical attempt to distance himself from his action/inaction as a senior shadow cabinet member under JC is about as low as it gets. He's looking after number one simple as that, and I suspect too many of the electorate will see through it for him to succeed. If he realy cared about labour he'd stand aside for someone untainted by the recent past - that's why I suggested Ed Milliband.

Corbyn is the opposite of a racist and Starmer is making an example of him. Corbyn just doesn't lie and do the PC thing like a normal politician, so therefore had no chance of being elected, and its similar in this situation where he is giving an honest opinion instead of bowing to the judge and taking the medicine.

Starmer has to bite the bullet to stand a chance if being elected at the next general election.
Good luck to him.

Just in case people haven't seen JC's abhorent statement on FB today here it is. I think his crime is clear for all to see:

“Antisemitism is absolutely abhorrent, wrong and responsible for some of humanity’s greatest crimes. As Leader of the Labour Party I was always determined to eliminate all forms of racism and root out the cancer of antisemitism. I have campaigned in support of Jewish people and communities my entire life and I will continue to do so.

“The EHRC’s report shows that when I became Labour leader in 2015, the Party’s processes for handling complaints were not fit for purpose. Reform was then stalled by an obstructive party bureaucracy. But from 2018, Jennie Formby and a new NEC that supported my leadership made substantial improvements, making it much easier and swifter to remove antisemites. My team acted to speed up, not hinder the process.

“Anyone claiming there is no antisemitism in the Labour Party is wrong. Of course there is, as there is throughout society, and sometimes it is voiced by people who think of themselves as on the left.
“Jewish members of our party and the wider community were right to expect us to deal with it, and I regret that it took longer to deliver that change than it should.
“One antisemite is one too many, but the scale of the problem was also dramatically overstated for political reasons by our opponents inside and outside the party, as well as by much of the media. That combination hurt Jewish people and must never be repeated.
“My sincere hope is that relations with Jewish communities can be rebuilt and those fears overcome. While I do not accept all of its findings, I trust its recommendations will be swiftly implemented to help move on from this period.”

Lol - the same logic applied by corbynistas to attacks on him. KS is a dead man walking politically.
Not in the world of those that used to vote labour and no longer do. Those that take little interest in the political playground and decide when it comes to election time. They really couldn’t care less that he was in the cabinet with Corbyn, they’ll judge him on his actions as leader.

If they judge him as a leader then he's knackered.

What a bastard

What the same canny electorate that failed to see through Johnson’s mendacity will see through Starmer? Oh, ok

For me he’s yet to miss a beat Keir. Only the opposition so far, so not much to go off, but the easy thing to do would not have been this.

So we already know when faced with the easy thing, or the right thing; he will do the right thing.

Keep going my man, the appetite is there for a competent centrist/left leaning party with a strong leader to run this country. Keep expunging the radical lunatics that so nearly destroyed the party.

Rayner has to go though. Not to appease the Torries, but because she will sabotage the next GE.

He will do the right thing by the donors who funded his campaign for the Labour leadership. He is already doing the wrong thing by breaking the promises to the membership he made whilst seeking the leadership. He has proven to be a liar by calling for unity and then expelling many on the left. He has split the party probably more than anyone since Ramsey Macdonald entered coalition 100 years ago. He is a neo-liberal Blairite , not a man of the left, he is an opportunistic **** who through his idiotic pushing of a 2nd referendum on Europe cost the Labour party the red wall and he has manouvered his way into the leadership on the back of false promises. He has constantly undermined the left and by being in Corbyn's cabinet is himself complicit in antisemitism by his own actions yesterday. In effect he denied it existed and should do the honourable thing and resign. He is not a man of honour though , he is a back stabbing **** and his legacy will be the ruination of the Labour party as an electoral force as it now it has no choice but to split. Leave him with his merry band of FBFE pro EU middle class champagne faux socialist flag wavers and see how he goes winning back the red wall he needs. Not a fucking prayer. He is a **** and what is left of the lickspittle Blairite rump deserve each other, they can give each reach arounds in front of paintings of their hero the war criminal Blair.

Rascal mate you need to chill out.

Starmer has a much higher chance to reclaim the red wall than Corbyn or any socialist would have.

People in Burnley and the like voted for Boris Johnson’s government for gods’ sake, and you don’t think they’d vote for a centrist instead?

Read the situation mate, I beg you. You’re making it sound like Blaire was some bastard, but there’s a reason he’s the only Labour politician who’s been elected since 1979, that’s what the people want. Centrist/left leaning politics.

If you think he’ll perform worse in 2023 than Corbin did in 2019, you need to take a serious hard look at yourself. The Labour Party need to stop being a permanent peripheral opposition party and make serious strides to try to lead this country.

Yes. He is. Over laboured some aspects to score a minor point. He should have supported the findings. KS and the report did not name him directly. It was a get out of jail free opportunity. Instead, Corbyn chose himself over the party. He is self serving dickhead.
Exactly. He should have kept his self serving mouth shut or agreed with the report.Just like the election stuffings it's always done one else s fault with him.

Starmer the two faced **** is refusing to criticise Len Mclusky,

He needs the Union money because membership has fallen off a cliff. What a ****.
