I like Starmer a lot

I was an ardent remainer and still think leaving was a very bad idea.
However, rejoining wouldn't work as we wouldn't go back in on the same terms we had and are probably too far down the road with going it alone to turn back now.
Why should they? We go back cap in hand they see a chance to get better terms for the EU. It's called negotiating.new Government that is Pro Eu says to the EU can we re-join on the same terms - why would they say no ?

They could still be stronger but without the UK having a veto and other privililages.because it's a win/win, EU is stronger with us in it.
