Keir Starmer

You may be right. Time will tell.

Unrelated I hope we do push ahead with crypto reforms. There is massive vested interests of our FS industry which does *not* want people to be able to hold or transact their own money, they want you to store it in their bank whilst paying you 0.1% interest. This is holding us back at the expense of us, the public. This means people with a few Satoshis and a couple hundred quid in bitcoin being punished by a bent FS industry.

So that makes it alright taking £5 million from a crypto billionaire while at the same time pushing the interests of that donor. Something stinks.

Can't wait for Reform to get in.

Landlord Steve from the Dog and Duck as the Chancellor of the Exchequer and Fat Tracey as Education Minister. Can throw in Dodgy Dave as the Justice Secretary. All a far better option than Suella Braverman who will actually be sat in the cabinet.

We're fucked

Really??? How desperate are you?

1. This was **12 years ago**. The world view of Putin around that time was largely positive about him. Farage was merely echoing from many in the west at the time.

2. Asked which current world leader he most admired, Farage replied: "As an operator, but not as a human being, I would say Putin.

"The way he played the whole Syria thing. Brilliant. Not that I approve of him politically. How many journalists in jail now?"

Not exactly binding the UK to lifelong support of Russia, is it.

Once a Russian asset always a Russian asset.
BTW I’ve noticed you are putting in very long hours, BOT.

One of his worst features. That's a massive red flag and one that should have any decent, right-minded person not going anywhere near him. The other big red flag is that he pushed for Brexit which most economists have said has cost this country £40 billion in lost tax revenues to the treasury.
His relationship with Trump is the number 1 reason I don’t like him so I’m not disagreeing.

Isn't this thread supposed to be about Keir Starmer (check the title)?

I didn't think it was the thread to criticise and abuse Farage (deserved or not) - there are plenty of other threads for that to be done. These are more deflection tactics which shows a very desparate, last ditch strategy being deployed. A bit like Starmers speech yesterday where he personalised politics by call ing Starmer a grifter and a chancer.... like I say desparate.

His comments are mixed, he’s called Putin clever and also criticised NATO for expanding East, to be clear I think that’s a garbage opinion so not defending it, that doesn’t make him an acolyte or a secret ally as you’ve suggested though.

You are the expert on such things - apparently !

I didn’t bring it up pal, it was your mate Chippy BOT

Well that's ok then, he's obviously a very decent option.

So in essence Farage in the view of the electorate is the least worse option.

He has no positive attributes or qualities, is a liar, grifter and Putin accolyte - just what else does this country really need ?

So the electorate is becoming more like the MAGA imbeciles day by day, despite the evidence of that shit at every opportunity.

Unfortunately fighting again abject stupidity is difficult.
Sometimes democracy has to run its course and it's just not right to demand or reject elections based upon whether you like or dislike a party. I think a GE is necessary now simply because Labour has no mandate. I thought the same when the Tory government was dragged out under Sunak although he did eventually give the game up.

With the current state of things this is classic ground for a left leaning Labour to lead but where are they? There isn't even a candidate to challenge Starmer let alone a government in waiting. Some quarters are now scrambling to find a seat for Burnham, this isn't democracy, it's a party clinging onto power via any means except an election.

I don't see what other choice there is because as of today Reform will win the election in some form or another. It is just a simple question of by how much and whether they will need to get into bed with somebody. If Farage turns out to be a twat then he'll get voted out next time around because that's what democracy is.

Fighting stupidity is indeed difficult but recognising reality is also important. If a majority within the electorate want a Farage government then that's where we're going to go eventually unfortunately.

No I’m not, I’ve just looked into his historical comments on Russia and Putin and also looking into there being any evidence that he’s an asset. The first part is mixed, he’s said some things I completely disagree with him he’s also criticised Putin. The latter there’s no evidence for, other than one or two shit opinions on Putin.

It’s important to be accurate, if both sides of the debate just chuck shit over the fence, whether it’s true or not, it becomes a race to the bottom.

The biggest thing to beat Farage with right now is his relationship and support for the hideous **** in the White House and him receiving the biggest donation in UK political history, that he failed to declare.

Both these things are enough to rule him out of being next PM, the latter should be posing a risk of him seeing the inside of a jail cell, not only are the press ignoring it, the political Left aren’t using it merely enough as they should be, it should be a huge story and the end of his career, but for some reason even his detractors don’t realise that.

Labour won a stonking FPTP majority in 2024 so under the fixed term parliament act they still have a mandate for three more years. I think they are getting the big decisions right irrespective of how big a twit you think Starmer is.
