Ketogenic Diet

Couldnt agree more,we live in a selfish, irresponsible and arrogant society where many are happy to blame their faults on others and to allow others to take the reigns.
The general public has turned into what we take the piss out of Liverpool fans for.

“it’s not my fault” “it’s not our fault” “it’s because of…” “I wouldn’t be in this position if…” “yeah but, they…” “if it weren’t for them…” “it’s was their fault” “he doesn’t do it so why should I?” “she’s done the same thing so why can’t I?”

People are too quick to absolve themselves of responsibility for anything and everything. People have too little resilience, too little willpower, too little accountability, too little pride in themselves, they’re too lazy to get off their arses, too idle to research and learn…

The veggie version is mostly about nuts and seeds , veggie cheese , small amount butter , small amount of berries, full fat greek yogurt and salad and veggies , i have clotted cream and non sugar jelly every day to feed my sweet tooth, i do a seventeen hour overnight fast , got into ketosis in a couple of days and not dropped out once , did bung me up initially but really suits me , not for everyone i am sure
Is keto a means of weight loss or is it an entire lifestyle change for you (with weight loss a bonus)? If the former how far do you have to go?

A mixture of the two really ,the weight loss is quick for some weeks and it gets rid of a fat dangerous belly quite quickly . I find i could easily keep it up indefinately , it suits what i like to eat as a picky eater , i am going to get my cholesterol checked in a few weeks and see if it is ok with the fat i am eating . For some people its a diet that can be hard to keep up as low carbs is quite hard to maintain and avoiding sugar can be difficult , it doesnt suit everyone but if you ever find you are diabetic or pre then it is the one that gets results to counter it and can reverse it , my family got diabetes starting with the oldest down, i am the youngest and assume it is heading my way so this way of eating takes the worry away a bit

If you google keto diet there is lots to read and recipes, do's and donts etc

I have upped my flaxseed oil caps 1000 from one to three since i started on this diet to add another source of good fats , i researched mct oil and the benefits are similar without the added cost , weight loss has slowed up now i am starting week sixteen but if you had offered me two stone one pound at the start i would have biten your arm off

Losing weight post menopause is really difficult and it loves belly fat , the dangerous apple shape , i had to go quite extreme and luckily it suits me fine

I tried to do this again to treat Candida but I gave up after a few weeks. It’s too restrictive (especially if you avoid dairy like me) and the keto flu is brutal.

Why would you do it for that reason ? Keto flu is only a week, you have to drink loads as you wee more early on

Why would keto treat Candida?
There’s conflicting information but lots of sources say that Candida feeds off sugar, so you should limit carbs as much as possible.

My nutritional therapist thinks a paleo diet is a good option for Candida, leaky gut etc.

You need to cut back on sugar not a strict low carb diet where the carbs, protein and fat are a fine balance , the paleo sounds better

That may work but a paleo diet is restrictive too.

Have you not considered just a regular diet with more water, veg, and general clean eating? You'd be surprised how powerful a micronutrient rich diet can be, and it's not too far away from a paleo diet if you're not eating junk.

I know you have to watch your electrolytes but I was still tired all the time even after loading up on magnesium, potassium and salt.
And now I have some semblance of a social life (I have one friend :p), the ketogenic diet is even harder to commit to because of peer pressure.

Wish i had a friend lol, the keto is hard to do and you would be better off cutting out all junk and refiined sugars and eat clean as suggested above, things like sauces have a ton of sugar in so watch that as well

‘Brain fog’ is my biggest issue and it’s been a problem my entire life.

An organic acid test confirmed I had quite severe Candida and my NT subsequently put me on a variety of SBO probiotics, a GI repair product and a multivitamin. In combination with a healthy diet, I did notice an improvement in my energy levels, cognition and general well-being. But I foolishly became addicted to caffeine again (I have ADHD, so I’m always under stimulated) and the lack of clarity in my head returned.

I agree with your point. If I avoid/limit processed foods, drink lots of water and eat a healthy balance of primarily organic fruits, vegetables & poultry, I feel a whole lot better in myself. Intermittent fasting helps too.

I thought you sometimes met up with people on here? Sorry if that isn’t the case. Loneliness is tough.

Well just do that then. Any fad diet is only going to stress you out and if you miss one day you'll likely snowball. Just keep it simple and don't stress yourself out.

Also yeah, try and find ways to limit caffeine. It's probably affecting your sleep for the worse.

Yeah i have been to three games farly recently but i live on the south coast so not where my friends on here live , i am not at all lonely, so long as i have a cat in the house
South coast? Are you in Kent?
