They've done wonders in transfer market. Made around 180 mil. on Suarez and Coutinho while getting very good stuff from them while they were there, and used that money, with some, but not much more, added to rebuild 2013/14 squad.

They're deluded ****s, but they did it well there.

The total cost of all the players you've listed there, bar Keita, is £25m. and I'm excluding him because he's the only player who we've bought as a potential starter, and still are hopeful of him coming good.

Klavan cost £2m ffs :D

Even if Keita gets fit, he's shown nothing to indicate he will be anything more than an average midfielder. Occasional good passes, but looks dodgy and lazy defensively.

Klavan cost €5m as a 4th choice centre back, played 39 games over the course of just over 2 seasons and was sold for £2m with the emergence of Gomez.

Grujic was signed for £5.1m at age 21 and has since been on loan. Estimates of value in summer range from £25-40m

Solanke cost £3m and was sold 18 months later for £18m.

None of these 3 can be argued as being a waste of money at all.

The other 3 are more debatable.

Keita cost around £55m and so far has been under whelming. Injuries cost him when he finally looked to be settling into place, but with many years left in his contract, and with the talent he has, he remains a question mark in terms of value.

Shaqiri cost £13.5m and has had limited game time as back up to the front 3, although did score the winners against united. Again, given the limited fee and the intended role as backup, I would argue he has been neutral in terms of value. Neither best, nor a waste.

Karius on the other hand....... An unmitigated disaster. Leaving aside his performance in the CL final, which may or may not have been affected by concussion, he was poor throughout most of the season and never convincing. In fairness he was considered to be the 2nd best keeper in the bundesliga before we signed him, for £4.75m, but still, a total disaster and waste of money.

If these are the worst signings of klopp that you can think of, particularly in light of the successes, I can rest easily with that.

Two deflections. Add to that 4 goalies chucking the ball into their net, numerous Salah backflips, and offsides, it's actually pretty comical that you still couldn't win the title.

I disagree, he started to show a bit of form when he began playing more regularly. Unfortunately yes, injuries have got in the way of any of us seeing the level he can achieve in the premier league, but I'm not prepared to write him off yet.

Fabinho is a great example of writing a player off too early.

Every time I have watched Keita I have thought exactly the same thing, he is a coward. When things are going well for him or the team he shows for the ball and wants to get involved, as soon as things take a turn for the worse he goes missing or miraculously gets 'injured' and goes off.
Just my opinion of course, but I think you will find I am right. Arnautovic at West Ham was the same.

I can't remember him doing anything of note last year except a headed goal against Southampton that should have been called offside. And why is Fabinho a great example? I saw you get destroyed 2H yesterday and he was nowhere in sight. You're lucky Chelsea had rocks in their shooting boots or you would have lost comfortably.

He's a great example as one or two bad games should not detract from some excellent performances, and him quite rightly being praised for being an asset in the middle of the park.

Again, Keita hasn't played enough games for anyone to have a realistic shot at assessing how good he is, and I'm not sure, with his red card issues at Leipzig, that he could realistically be called a coward.

I'm sure we can both thank our lucky stars that teams we've played over the last couple of seasons didn't have their shooting boots on, and conversely, you must have been made up that Kompany dusted the cobwebs off his own shooting boots against Everton last season. That's how close the run in was.

Sure it was Leicester.
