Funnily enough, there were two soon to be LFC managers in the team that day. Phil Taylor was in charge prior to Shankly taking over and there was some fella called Paisley. He did okay in the end.

Given how Uefa have consistently tried to stiff us no it would not be considered as a big year. The competition means nothing to a lot of us.

Sure it would but that's not what you asked. IMO the competition the organisation are corrupt to the core. Bigger for me would be the club saying stick your competition but that will never happen.
