At last!
After numerous false starts, Vision is finally going to be built by Domis Construction.
Vision, a long-proposed £125m residential development off Whitworth Street West, has taken a step towards reality with the appointment of a main contractor.
DOMIS Construction has been handed the contract to build the 37-storey Vision scheme, which will see the delivery of 327 one-, two, and three-bedroom apartments, as well as a gym, yoga and spin studio, and cinema.
Paul Strutt, director at DOMIS, said: “Vision is set to be an impressive residential tower and we are delighted to continue with our success in delivering another flagship development for Manchester in this prominent location.
“We are set to start on site in the coming weeks with a four-month programme of enabling works, and as ever, quality, delivery and budget is at the forefront of the agenda.”

Last week we have successfully completed the performance mock up (PMU) of the customised UCW for a new project in Manchester. The series of off-site tests are conducted to validate the performance,the design and workmanship enabling the project to go into full production.

The George pub on the corner of Wellington Road North and Heaton Lane in the town centre is to be redeveloped into a 72-apartment scheme.
The proposed 15-storey Stockport development would occupy a prominent site in the town centre next to the Beckwith House office building and Stockport Travelodge.
Designed by Ollier Smurthwaite Architects, the project proposes coworking space on the lower floors. The building is designed so that each of the apartments would be dual-aspect, according to the architect.

We all love some dramatic looking concrete on a build site. Here's some from a recently completed pour in Manchester from our SRM Concrete business.
The slip form core has progressed very well for the contractor involved over the last few weeks thanks to an excellent onsite team.
Slip form is a method of construction in which concrete is poured into the top of a continuously moving formwork. As the concrete is poured, the formwork is raised vertically at a speed which allows the concrete to harden before it is free from the formwork at the bottom.
